Please post your favorite Novena and either why you like it so much, what it means to you or what it got you through/how it was answered…

I wouldn’t mind sharing a bit about my favorite prayers if this help you and others. 🙂

Novena of Sacred Heart of Jesus - His Love and Mercy towards us - it has a part that pray for priests- knowing that we have so many temptation in lives … imagine how much more do we need to pray for the priest. In fact, with His grace, I’ve overcome quite many temptations.

15 Prayers of St. Bridget of Sweden - The promises are so great - praying for myself and my love ones. This Novena is the whole year. I know a lady who did this novena and one of the promises had granted to her - that is she would sense her death when it came. She was in the hospital and she wanted to go home. About 2 weeks later, she passed away - a very happy death.

Consecration to Immaculate Heart of Virgin Mary - She is the Mother of our Lord Jesus and also our Mother. She knows Him and through Her, Jesus reflects. We can ask her to help us to be reflecting Jesus in our lives.

Novena for the Holy Souls - they long for God and they need our help praying for them. I had some sort of supernatural experience ( I would not go detail here); things that happen to me really motivate me to pray for the Holy Soul (The Rosary is very important prayer for them as well)

**Divine Mercy Chaplet **- Trust in Jesus’ Mercy. Through this prayers, many dying souls receive happy deaths …also for conversion of sinners.

**Novena of St. Rita **- praying for being a childlike person and to help me with my daily work - to glorify God in whatever I do. I can sense that I’ve wanted to become a simple person more and more each day.

Novena of St. Jude - as same as Novena of St. Rita.

I believe St. Jude and St. Rita had helped me with a great job and that my workplace is on the same block with a Cathedral where I can go to daily mass.

:blessyou:

I have two favorite novenas:
  1. The 5 day novena to St. Therese, the Little Flower
always seems to provide a clear answer to prayer
even if the answer is “no”.
  2. The 9 hour novena to Our Lady of Snows which is a
powerful and rewarding prayer in times of stress
    or some emergency.

25 years ago said this Novena for my brother diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease, 25 years later he is alive and kicking.

Saint Martha,
I resort to thy aid and protection.
As proof of my affection and faith,
I offer thee this light,
which I shall burn every Tuesday.

Comfort me in all my difficulties
and through the great favors thou didst enjoy
when the Savior was lodged in thy house,
intercede for my family,
that we be provided for in our necessities.
I ask of thee, Saint Martha,
to overcome all difficulties
as thou didst overcome the dragon
which thou hadst at thy feet.
In the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen

Recite the following prayers…

Our Father…
Hail Mary…
Glory Be…

For Nine Tuesdays I lit a candle in this Church, and thanks to God and Saint Martha for her intercession.

I don’t have a favourite Novena, but thought this one was worth mentioning, praying to Saint Anthony is very popular here.

The novena of the seven gifts is the only novena I’ve ever done. It took alot out of me, but helped me through some serious troubles. I think it is the oldest novena. It was done before penecost. Tim

I’ve done that one too! It was one of the first ones I have ever done, too. I like it!

I’ve never heard of this one… would you mind posting it?

Every month from the 9th to the 17th I pray the Novena of the Twenty-four Glory Be to the Fathers to St Therese. This is a nice prayer that joins you with everyone else praying it, and St Therese has always kept her promise “I will spend my heaven doing good on earth. I will let fall a shower of roses.”

Mariam 1976 asked for the 9 hour novena to Our Lady of the Snows.

It goes like this:

Every hour you say the Memorare (Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary) followed by:
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be (once each)
Then:
Our Lady of Snows, pray for us
St. Joseph, pray for us
St. Therese, pray for us (I don’t know why)

That’s it!

I don’t know where it came from other than perhaps from the shrine to her under this title. I had an aunt who favored this novena and I had a holy card with it printed on it, but it has since been lost - or someone borrowed it without returning it. Anyway, it’s easy to remember.

Thanks for this 🙂 My collecting has expanded from holy cards to novena booklets… so I’ll probably check this out.

I have the following which is also pretty useful (for those that don’t have it already):
