Favorite O Antiphon

The “O Antiphons” refer to the seven antiphons that are used in the Octave before Christmas, December 17 to 23. What is your favorite O Antiphon? Why?
 
I like O Emmanuel the best, because it calls to mind the saving power of the Lord.

O Wisdom, O Holy Word of God, you govern all creation with your strong yet tender care. Come and show your people the way to salvation. (Isaiah 11:2-3; Wisdom 8:1; Proverbs 9:1.

I try to recall the best and worst decisions I ever made. While we all like the way our best decisions work out, we probably gain the most wisdom from our biggest mistakes. So I identify and explain how the Lord has given me wisdom through my decisions.

Isaiah prophesied, “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom a light has shown.” (Isaiah 9:1)

Jesus came to free us from our sin, to shine the light upon us, Jew and Gentile alike. This is why it’s my favorite.
