Just curious here. Personally I’m torn between Franciscans and jesuits

I’ve been blessed to attend a Jesuit parish for many years. We have a 4 full time priests and one retired. We are spoiled from listening to wonderful homilies!😃

Being a Clare I had to say Franciscan…but I was raised in the Jesuit way, and I love them equally.

In the Latin Church I’d have to say either the OSB of Fontgombault or the Canons Regular of Prémontré (O.Praem).

I love the Franciscans and their special adherence to the way of Saint Francis, humble, poor, and charitable, with simplicity in there approach to God.

May God bless you all abundantly and forever! 🙂

I have to go with Franciscan. Live the Gospel every day of your life; see Jesus in every human being.

The Sisters of Mercy have been serving Pittsburgh and many other communities for the better part of 2 centuries.

Although many of the elementary schools they founded haven’t survived to this day, and they divested themselves of Mercy Hospital which was sold out to UPMC, they still are involved with Carlow College, Mercy Behavioral Health- largest psychiatric clinic in the area, and Operation Safety Net providing services to Pittsburgh’s homeless community.

I had the privilege of attending a Jesuit high school, at a time where none of them were running off the rails, and their attitude and demands on us as students stretched all of us students.

However, my favorites are the Benedictines and the Trappists, and I can’t choose one over the other. They are both awesome.

Many, most, all of them but I will select the Vincentians.

Legacy of St. Vincent De Paul which is a legacy of great charity towards others. I am not even sure if charity would look like it does today without St. Vincent’s work.

St. Vincent de Paul Society, Miraculous Medal, all related.

That’s great and reminds me of the Little Sisters of the Poor, another order; so in the end, there are too many that are doing honorable work, helping people. It might be good to produce a long list of orders and have persons choose from such a list. I like the Marists as well as the Marians of the Immaculate Conception. The Oblates is another fine order, there are even orders that are somewhat regional.

Well, the Franciscans and then, I guess it is their female counterparts, the Poor Clares, somewhat referenced to already.

Capuchins, a type of Franciscan?

I was Baptized and Confirmed and received First Communion and was Married and had my first Confession heard at a wonderful and orthodox Dominican parish. St. Dominic truly is my spiritual father in many ways, therefore, and I can’t help but love his order. 🙂
