Mine is Coco, man do I LOVE this movie. It’s music is fantastic, and excellent writing and characters.

I cried the first 3-5 times I watched it.

Oh, that is waaay too hard a question! 😱

Wall-E… Brave… Cars… Inside Out… How can I choose?

I’ll go with Coco because I love the music and just how beautiful it is to look at. 😍 I also love that it’s so completely about family, and a family that looks like mine. :princess:t4:

Well, not the skeleton thing. My family doesn’t look like skeletons.

I haven’t seen too many Pixar movies, but I’d say Toy Story 3

Really? My wife and I can’t have children. I’ll watch the first 20 minutes of UP every few months just for a good, cathartic crying jag. Not sure many children would comprehend the emotional depth those cartoon pixels are conveying.

guess I’ll never be a mature adult then 🙃
Even as adults, Pixar movies get so much deeper and lose no charm whatsoever, as shown with the Up example above

I realize some people think Pixar is only for children but it’s not in my opinion. A good story is a good story no matter the age of the audience! Often there is nuance in there that is above a child level of comprehension… but the adults in the room get it!

I haven seen Coco. I need to rectify that. Favorite right now is Finding Nemo. I loved the story of the overprotective dad and the adventurous son and finding each other, forgiveness and lessons learned. Classic story and Dora was a scream!

That first 20 minutes is so poignant and so well made. It’s one level for kids but the meaning about pregnancy loss and infertility hits the adults really hard.

I saw that pregnant with my daughter on tv late at night. I had insomnia.

The barracuda scene had me sobbing and sobbing.

They all are good.
But the first five minutes of Up is one of the most beautiful and sad things ever.

so hard to choose, probably monsters. inc though.

and I would much rather watch kids movies nowadays, much more wholesome, most entertainment for adults is just full of immoral garbage

There are some movies that are clearly aimed at kids alone. Pixar and Disney in general are pretty good at making family movies for all ages, with depth and character

Oh my goodness I love Wall E!
It’s probably one of my favorite movies period. It’s incredible how they make such amazing characters with barely any dialogue.

but Coco’s charm and stunning beauty and emotion puts it higher up on my book

I thought Coco also had a pretty tight story narrative that struck all the right beats with great execution.

It’s hard for me to pick favorites. All of the Toy Stories have been great. Up. Monster’s Inc. The Incredibles (1 and 2). I need to rewatch Wall-E, I only saw that once. I haven’t seen Inside Out yet.

I haven’t seen any of the recent ones. Of the ones I’ve seen, I think I like Up the best. I actually didn’t realize Wall-E was a Pixar film because I don’t hear it being talked about in the context of Pixar films. I also loved Wall-E, but, it is increasingly feeling more like a documentary than a work of fiction, especially in the sections showing the humans.

I’m not sure about Soviet cartoons, because of my desire to distance myself from communism. But watching them from a historical perspective could be interesting though

Ratatouille, followed closely by Finding Nemo, Wall-E and Coco. After that, I really liked the Toy Story Trilogy, The Incredibles and Cars. I guess I also liked Up and Cars 3, but my feelings were more mixed towards those two, and the same goes for Cars 2 and The Incredibles 2, but I’m even more mixed on those two.
