In my sitting room. I have flowers and a La Pieta statue there and lit candle.

There are no distractions there for me.

My favorite place to pray the rosary is anywhere I can walk for a while in nature. It reminds me of when I hiked the Camino de Santiago and it brings me back to the state of quiet prayer you fall into during those long days hiking though the countryside of Spain.

One place I pray that’s not really my favorite is at the dentists ,I’ve had some rootcanal treatments with
student dentists …often quite lengthy. It has been good though, praying for needs and taking my mind off the dental work at the same time.

Better in the church before mass or outside with friend…at home is always stressfull because dont have my space or serenity or quietness…I want a place where i can be at peace

I took the French Way from St. Jean Pied du port and it took me about 35 days to finish, but I stopped for an extra day in a few of the major cities.

That’s totally awesome. The Husband and I were once planning to do the full Northern Way in winter, but then I had open knee surgery to fix an injury and he developed a pituitary macroadenoma so those plans are postponed indefinitely 😞

I had a very moving experience before the icon and have called upon her daily ever since. The icon itself isn’t that big and there’s a great deal of humility and strength about it.

She meant the Apostles Creed, the Hail Mary, the
Glory Be and Hail Holy Queen, altho she can’t
get the Our Father which is ALL in Latin, down, yet.

I am quite lucky in that I actually really like my living room. I have a strong memory of once praying in the sun coming in through the west window, late winter, sitting on the floor - huge tree out that way, few yards down, could see the top and blue sky. Felt very one foot in eternity, one foot here. I have tried a few times since to recapture that, but it is never the same, at least so far. That said, I can pray very well anywhere in my house or where I choose if I am in the right state of mind. The physical place is helpful but secondary to me. I can feel quite close to God on a crowded bus or not find him some days before an icon or in a Church. And then all that reverses - he is gone on the bus, back in the Church.

Redemptor Hominis Church at the Saint John Paul II shrine near the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Catholic University and USCCB in Washington DC.
