I’m sure these questions have probably been asked in the past, but it’s really interesting to me. What are your favorite places to pray? Do certain places seem to make prayer more fulfilling for you?

I ask because praying in my bedroom is strange for me. I don’t spend a lot of time in there and it’s rather stifling. I much prefer to pray in an empty church. It keeps me focused and feeling connected to God. I wondered if anyone else felt the same way about any place in particular.

Oh, and I pray when my bus driver drives like a maniac, which is almost every morning. 😛

My favorite place to pray is the local Catholic cemetery when I’m out running. I actually make the Sign of the Cross while I run. I know, I’m strange, aren’t I?

The weird thing is when I finish the hill, a gust of wind always blows and cools me off.

I call it God’s air conditioning. 😃

In front of the exposed Blessed Sacrament at adoration

In tthe Poor Clare Monastery in Santa Barbara

Wherever I am relaxed and can truely forget about the busy-ness of life.

I do quite well in my bedroom - I’ve got pictures of the Sacred Heart, the Immaculate Heart and St Joseph hanging on my wall, so they’re good to focus on while I pray.

Then there’s my favourite armchair, often looking out at the trees outside my window 🙂

My parents’ patio, either first thing in the morning, when there’s just a slight mist covering their fields or at sunset (they get the most glorious sunsets 🙂 )

Certainly inside a church at Adoration or Mass ranks right up there :yup: :getholy:

I like to sit somewhere where it is quiet - preferably when I am alone. For some reason I get less distracted when I close my eyes (I probably look line a loony, too! 😛 ) But just as long as it is quiet, it’s fine with me. I also love to be outdoors - something about it seems… tranquil.

I have a prayer kneeler in my bedroom that I use for short prayers. For my longer prayers, readins, and meditations, I sit comfortably in my living room chair, “helped out” by my cat Fluffy. 😃

I believe, without substantiation, that God does not mind my prayers sitting down instead of kneeling, since the cats are purring in contentment.🙂
