Personally my favorites are 91, 22, and 55. What is your favorite Psalm or Psalms?
The de Profundis (“Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD …”) is Psalm 130. Psalm 51 is the Miserere (“Have mercy on me, O God …”).I have always loved Psalm 22, the psalm we read during Palm Sunday (especially when it is sung using the GIA music) and Psalm 51 (De Profundis). In fact, I try to pray Psalm 51 as I’m kneeling down after having received communion. I would like Psalm 51 sung at my funeral.
In fact, I like Psalm 22 much better than the one that is used for Good Friday. The GIA setting (found in the Worship III hymnal) is very powerful and almost sounds Gregorian. I always looked forward to singing that during Palm Sunday Mass.
Thanks for the correction! The de Profundis (“Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD …”) is Psalm 130. Psalm 51 is the Miserere (“Have mercy on me, O God …”).
My personal favourite is Psalm 23 - “The LORD is my shepherd”, which I know off by heart![]()
Actually, I’ve never seen Bible verses on pizza or pizza boxes, but there is a brand of frozen pie called “Edwards”. They have Bible verses, usually from Psalms or Proverbs, on their pie tins. Whenever I have an Edwards pie, I always look for the Bible verse on the tin.Ps 122: I was glad when they said to me, let us go unto the Lord’s House.
I would like that one on my tombstone (not the pizza)
