"If angels were capable of envy, they’d envy us for two things: one is the receiving of Holy Communion, the other is suffering." - Our Lord to Saint Faustina (religious-vocation.com/redemptive_suffering.html)
Such previlege we have as Catholics that the Holy Ones, were they not incapable of envy, would envy us for the previlege of the Holy Eucharist!

"You will save more souls through sacrifice and prayer than will a missionary through his teachings and sermons alone." - Our Lord to Saint Faustina
This was very touching for me. At first I almost could not believe it, but Lord Jesus never lies and never makes a mistake. 🙂

"Love wants to suffer for the Beloved - Love wants to expiate the sins that have so deeply penetrated mankind." - Saint Therese
If you want to have a deeper love for Jesus, ask to suffer for the sins of sinners. Our suffering does not please him, as he hates to see his loved ones suffer, but the love beneath the suffering pleases him more than we can possibly fathom.

"We religious are co-redeemers of the world. And souls are not redeemed without the cross." - Saint Teresa of the Andes
If you suffer for the redemption of sinners, God himself esteems you as a blessed Co-redeemer.

"A single act of pure love pleases me more than a thousand imperfect prayers." - Jesus to Saint Faustina

When asked about her eating partridge (a delicacy), St. Teresa of Avila said, “There is a time for penance, and there is a time for partridge. This is the time for partridge.”

Maybe not what the OP had in mind…

No, I find it very enlightening! I believe that our God is a happy God who is happy to see his children happy. 🙂
