I’m not a fan of gory films, but I fo like a thriller on occasion.

Halloween is coming up, so there seems to be many thrillers on.

Today I saw, “The Bad Seed” I thought it was very good. It’s a psychological thriller about a little girl sociopath, and how her mother comes to understand the extent of her daughter’s bad deeds.

What films do you like?

Funny you should ask since right now I’m watching Psycho, a film which my parents, in their wisdom, first took me to see when I was about nine years old. It’s a favorite of mine to this very day. I also like the original Halloween but the more recent Saw, Final Destination, and Jeepers Creepers films are a little too much for me, besides not being that good compared to some of the classics.

I saw Psycho only one time, it scared me significantly at the time. I was in my early twenties. Maybe I’ll try it again.

I like the first, original Halloween movie and I used to like watching Rosemary’s Baby but that one kind of creeps me out now.

I like to watch Carnival of Souls on Hallowe’en. No gore. Nothing explicit. Just pure, uncut terror.

This isn’t a movie but I do sometimes like watching Ghost Adventures, mostly the first half of the show where they cover the history of the place they’re investigating, and do interviews.

At 9 years old, did you understand the ending? I am not sure how old I was when I saw the movie. It definitely creeped me out. I believe I was under 15 when I first saw it.
I like Rosemary’s Baby too. The casting was grear and a good story. I would like to read the book and see how similar it was to the movie.

The Haunting (1963). The horror in this movie is built entirely of fear itself, the blurred line between paranoia and the paranormal, and heavy suspense. No cheap jump scares, satanic themes, gratuitous sex, or gore; just plain fear.

Too many to name. But the Halloween movies have been airing on AMC.

The Changeling with George C. Scott creeps me out. I’m a fan of all the old Hammer horror flicks, too, and the movie The Others ranks pretty highly for me.

I’ve only seen a few but I liked both of them a lot.
-The Sixth Sense because it’s got a great plot and it’s terrifying
-Dracula 2000 because of Gerard Butler, who really is a great actor and because of the strange/cool twist with his background story

Fright Night (1985)
Psycho
Nightmare on Elm Street 1 & 3
Scream 1 & 4
Jaws
Alien
Bran Stoker’s Dracula (1992)

Is it a sin to watch scary film? I saw a youtube video somewhere and the priest asks, “Will you watch a scary film with Jesus?”

I don’t think if the film is scary means it’s morally wrong to watch.

The film I saw yesterday, was about a sociopathic little girl. It wasn’t true and it has no graphic scenes.

Depends heavily on the film. There are so many different kinds of scary. Suspense? Creature feature? Some psychological thrillers? I’d totally watch with Jesus. I think He has better things to do with His time, but in another sense He already is watching them with you.

Anything with Bela Lugosi.
Anything with creepy organ music to cheesetastically direct us into suspense.
Anything with a creature stalking our protagonist.
B movies.
Zombie comedies.

I love The Innocents. it’s based on The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. A governess comes to take charge of two children and discovers they are haunted by the ghosts of their former governess and the gamekeeper. It’s very atmospheric and scary. I still can’t watch it at night by myself.

I liked ‘needful things’ Max Von Sydow plays the part of…

Watch and find out 👀
