The song that always makes me happy, regardless of my mood is Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett.

this one makes me smile… i can sing it in my sleep, its an earworm at least 2 days a week for me… my favorite song of all time, as well, can make me smile and tap my toe regardless of mood.
and Dean is my #1 all time crooner to boot… i have a 6 CD changer in my car that has a revolving collection of Deano in it… (drives my wife a bit nuts, but he so represents a simpler time to me… and i’m only 34)

Sung by Dean Martin
“Ain’t love a kick in the head”
Written by Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen

How lucky can one guy be?
I kissed her and she kissed me
Like the fella once said,
“Ain’t that a kick in the head?”
The room was completely black,
I hugged her and she hugged back
Like the sailor said, quote,
“Ain’t that a hole in the boat?”

My head keeps spinnin’,
I go to sleep and keep grinnin’
If this is just the beginnin’,
my life is gonna be bee-yoo-tee-ful

I’ve sunshine enough to spread,
it’s just like the fella said
Tell me quick, ain’t love a kick in the head?

If this is just the beginnin’,
my life is gonna be bee-yoo-tee-ful

She’s tellin’ me we’ll be wed,
she’s picked out a king-size bed
I couldn’t feel any better or I’d be sick
Tell me quick oh, ain’t love a kick?
Tell me quick ain’t love a kick in the head?

Then you must love his “Memories are Made of These” (or if you don’t have it, you gotta hear it).

Possibly my favorite…Johnny Cash initially passed on singing “City of New Orleans” (he said he made this decision “to my eternal regret”), and the song became Willie Nelson’s.
Cash eventually sang a version of it, though, and it is just classic.

For now (and believe me, it changes very often), I’m hooked on Anna Nalick’s song “Breathe (2AM).” Great song about how we need to slow down, and not let the world get the better of us.

I like that song, too, but I always have this little inkling that she’s talking about taking a friend to an abortion clinic in the first verse.

“Don’t Cry For Me, Argentina” from EVITA, hands down.

Although I do have a favorite from each artist I listen to, I think Safri Duo’s “Played-A-Live” is my favorite overall…at least right now.
