We have been talking so much of the Bible… it got me thinking…

What is your favorite verse or passage?

See mine:

Numbers 23:19 said:
19God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Whenever I start giving God human and imperfect qualities and think of Him as if He is just like any other guy in my life I think of this verse… it’s gotten me through some pretty tough times… I have always believed that people disappoint no matter the sevarity whether big or small they disappoint but GOD will NOT…

I’ve often used Ps 34:6 with my signature: “This poor man cried and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.” But I cannot choose a favorite verse. Different ones grab me at different times.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you shall have distress: but have confidence, I have overcome the world.”
Code:
                                                     John 16:33
👍 👍 👍 👍 👍👍 👍

I’ve always loved this verse:

And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Malachai 3:3

And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars

I have always found this passage to be comforting:

Matt. 8:24 And behold a great tempest arose in the sea, so that the boat was covered with waves, but he was asleep. 25 And they came to him, and awaked him, saying: Lord, save us, we perish. 26 And Jesus saith to them: Why are you fearful, O ye of little faith? Then rising up he commanded the winds, and the sea, and there came a great calm.

Hey, we must think alike, thats one of my Favorites too.🙂

I like these verses. Mat 6:25 "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
Mat 6:26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Mat 6:27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
Mat 6:28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,
Mat 6:29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Mat 6:30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
Mat 6:31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
Mat 6:32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
Mat 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Mat 6:34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” (from the ESV)

John 14.1-3

*“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."*

I love this text. I cant wait for this to happen! 😃

Matt 7:21-23, "Not everyone who says to me,'Lord, Lord wil enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. Many will say to me that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name? Did we not drive out demons in your name? Did we not do mighty deeds in your name?’ Then I will declare to them solemnly, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.’

I try to do His will not mine, but I know I fall short everyday.

“Seek peace and purse it.” Psalm 34:14

I like this one because unlike the rest of the commandments, we are obligated to go out and seek the thing (peace) and not just do something when a situation presents itself.

1 Corinthians 13 to start, now taking each word checking the dictionary meaning, going from there ot Galatians 5:22 to see the fruits then to James 3: 15.21 also a form of the fruits, and then to James 3:1.5 to remind myself humility, the Beatitudes Matt3: to see where i might be at with others. I also love the sermons of Jesus.

God bless

Isaiah 50:4-9 is one of my favorites.
Also Phillipians 2:6-11.
Exodus 20:13 is one that I often dwell upon / need to remind myself of sometimes.
