What are your five favorite books on Christ and the Bible does not count? Which one would you grab if the house was on fire and everyone else was out safely?

Peace,
David

As an RCIA Candidate, I don’t have any books on Christ. I look forward to other replies to your question to draw up a suggested list of books to buy in the future, as cash flow allows:(

Transformation in Christ by Dietrich von Hildebrand, I don’t need any more material for reflection, to take on retreats, as spiritual reading, as this book will last me until I die

  1. Life of Christ by Fulton Sheen
  2. The Lord by Romano Guardini
3)The Life of Jesus Christ by Franz Michel Willam
4)The Life of Christ by Giovanni Papini
5)The Life of Christ by Giuseppe Ricciotti
Every book is a 10!

Andruschak start with Sheen you will not put it down. Puzzleannie how come I suspect I just got a little poorer?

Peace,
David

How do you feel about reading books off a computer screen? A lot of spiritual works are available for reading and/or free downloading online. When you’ve compiled your list, check your list with google (type in the title and ‘free e-book’)

You can even get some of them as free audiobooks (which I love, since I can then play them on my computer and listen to them while on the move, doing chores or such).

My favourites are three of the classics - Imitation of Christ (Thomas a Kempis) Introduction to the Devout life (St Francis de Sales) and Confessions of St Augustine.

I’ve also heard great things about (though I haven’t got around to) ‘Story of a Soul’ by St Therese of Lisieux.
