I’d say JPII might be getting the most votes so far. It’s close though and not over yet. I might do a count after 100 replies…if we get that far.
 
I really admire his great mind, strong faith and his gentle humility. In the Vatican he was described as “having the intellect of 16 theology professors and the piety of a child on the day of his first Holy Communion.” Plus, he loves cats (and they love him by the looks of things).

… but my serious reply is a tough one to call.

I’ll just go ahead say Benedict XVI. At least he understood what all the fuss was about.
 
pope pius xII he use to give away all the vatican gold to the jews during the war. he also made the convents hide the jews.

the man is a saint and he is in heaven

Of course it is, as it would be impossible to convey the entirety of their papacies in posts on this thread.

If you want something more in-depth, I would suggest delving into their encyclicals, homilies, and other writings. If I recall correctly, I believe JPII wrote down at least a couple things 😉

I don’t know, maybe Peter. Even his shadow could heal people.

If we are excluding Peter though, probably JPII (though Benedict and Francis aren’t far behind)

Before I officially came back to the faith, I’m afraid to say that I hated Pope Francis. I thought he was much too liberal and didn’t care for it. While l find his treatment of the dubia upsetting (I feel he’s too dismissive of the concerns his fellow bishops have), I have really grown to love him, and kick myself for the things I used to say about him. I’d have to say he is my “favorite”.
 
Don’t make me pick just one…my top 3 in order

Pius XII for standing up to the Nazi’s
JP II for all his lovely teachings and because he was Pope for most of my life 😉
Benedict for his scholarly works
