I like lots of hymns - particularly those of a traditional bent (like Holy God We Prase Thy Name). “Tantum Ergo” is probably my all time favorite. My favorite childhood hymn is probably “I Am The Bread of Life” - the one that goes “And I will raise him up, and I will raise him up, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

I currently really like “Puer Natus in Bethlehem” - I find myself singing it in the car a lot, even though it’s a Christmas hymn. I think it’s the repetiveness of the melody and “alleluias” that are most appealing.

I love this hymn too. It’s so reverent. I’d love to sing it in church but I just can’t quite get it…guess I need more practice. 🙂

you playing for everyone or just singing?

there is a “new” version of it on christian radio right now, ack cant remember whos singing, maybe Jermey Camp, If I think of it later. But if everyone likes the “original” you may want to do a solo.

Hows that for pressure 🙂 :rolleyes:

There is a song that I fell in love with years ago when the kids were babies. My husband used to sing it to them. I’ve been told that it is used during most often during communion and/or confirmation. Don’t know its name and I’ve been unsuccessful in locating it on the web. My husband can remember only some words of the verses.

It goes something like this:.

Brother Sister we are one and our lives have just begun. In the spirit we are one. We will live forever. Hear His word, hear His holy word. Gather 'round the table of the Lord. Eat His body, drink His blood and we’ll sing a song of love…

I’m not sure these few verses are in correct order…can anyone help, please? :o

I chose “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art” for my father’s funeral. They are my two favourite hymns.

I like both of these, especially “Jesus Christ Is Risen Today”. Charles Wesley’s hymns are beautiful. 👍
