Matt 28: 1-6 1: Now after the sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Mag’dalene and the other Mary went to see the sepulchre.
2: And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone, and sat upon it.
3: His appearance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow.
4: And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men.
5: But the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
6: He is not here; for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.

Amen! He is risen!

My favorite is Proverbs 31:10-31
"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

She wills to do him good and no evil all the days of her life.

She seeks wool, and flax, and works willingly with her hands.

She is like the merchants’ ship; she brings her food from afar.

She rises also while it is yet night, and gives food to her household, and a
portion to her maidens.

She considers a field, and buys it: with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.

She girds her loins with strength, and strengthens her arms.

She perceives that her merchandise is good: her candle does not go out by night.

She lays her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

She stretches out her hand to the poor; yea, she reaches forth her hands to the needy.

She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are
clothed with scarlet.

She makes herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.

She makes fine linen, and sells it; and deliveres girdles unto the merchant.

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

She opens her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

She looks well to the ways of her household, and eats not the bread of idleness.

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.

Many daughters have done virtuously, but the Godly wife excelles them all.

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is fleeting: but a woman that feareth the Lord,
she shall be praised.

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates."

Proverbs 31:10-31
I know it’s more than a quote but…it’s just my very favorite reading. Makes me want to go and embrace my Godly wife and mother.

Peace to all,
especially the wives and moms!

Psalms 46:10 - Be still and know I am God.

Growing up HADD, I had to learn to be still.

James 1:2-4

Count it all joy, my bretheren, when you meet various trials, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

**The LORD, your God, is in your midst,
a mighty savior;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
and renew you in his love,
He will sing joyfully
because of you,
as one sings at festivals.

Zephaniah 3:17-18**

Oh, what pleasure it gives me to think that God sings with happiness just because of me!

I love that quote also. If I could only be still!!!

Everyone has picked some beauties! Mine, too, change a bit depending on circumstance, but these are a few of my favorites:

*“With man it is impossible, but not with God: for all things are possible with God.” * Mark 10:27

*"And when the hour came, he sat at table, and the apostles with him. And he said to them “I have earnestly desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer…” * Luke 22: 14 [He says this to us at every Mass!]

*“If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.” * 1 Cor. 12:26

*“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed every day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, because we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” * 2 Cor 4:16-18

Wow–what a question. It’s like asking you which spoonful of ice cream you liked best?

From the new testament I propose Peter’s reply to Jesus’ question toward the end of John 6-- “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life”. It reflects my own struggles with faith and is the final reason why I adhere to it, even if I am clinging by my eyebrows.

Don’t forget to be kind to strangers. For some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it.
–Hebrews 13:2

Matthew 25:21
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

I have a picture showing Jesus warmly embracing one who had just entered His sacred presence in heaven. For some reason, I always melt when I see it and read the inscription. It is my hope to hear His words of welcome to me when I die, and be assured that my few deeds have been pleasing to Him.

My number one favorite is…

7I once thought all these things were so very important, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. 8Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I may have Christ

-Philippians 3:7-8

Other favorites include-

4"I want you to promise, O women of Jerusalem, not to awaken love until the time is right

-Song of Solomon 8:4

13For my people have done two evil things: They have forsaken me–the fountain of living water. And they have dug for themselves cracked cisterns that can hold no water at all!

-Jeremiah 2:13

And last but not least-

-Job 40-41

I like Philippians 3:7-8 because it speaks of how everything else in this world so pales in comparison to a relationship with Jesus.

Song of Solomon 8:4 is a great verse for girls my age because it of the need for purity in my life and how the choices and sacrifices I make today will impact my future marriage (that’s a big IF I get married).

Jeremiah 2:13 shows how we have turned our backs on God and continue to seek Life in things that are not satisfying.

Job 40-41 opens my eyes to the awesome Wonder that is my Lord and King. <3

His Word is marvellous isn’t it?!?

For some reason I just love this passage from Luke. It is Simeon’s response to seeing Jesus at his presentation in the temple.

Luke 2:28-32

he took him into his arms and blessed God, saying: “Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in sight of all the peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel.”

Now, put yourself in Simeon’s shoes and picture yourself holding the infant Jesus up in the air. O’ what a beautiful image it is.

God Bless…

From the book of Tobit 6:18 (the best book ever)

“But do not be afraid, for she was set apart for you before the world existed” St. Raphael

Heehee! My true love was set apart for me before the world existed! I wonder where he is right now…
