I keep myself at a distance from people becuz I fear of who they really R. There R quirks, disagreements, ugliness. Real life is messy. We all have sumthing wrong w/ us. I want intimacy but Im afraid of it. I’m afraid being a nag. Afraid of being seen 4 who I am. Families r messy. People say the wrong things. Sum people r 2 sensitive. Others are 2 insensitive. Not all problems get resolved like they do in films. There R lingering feelings of hate, inadequacy, etc THEN U die. U leave this world w/ a mess. I’d like 2 believe luv is more resilient. Luv in and of itself is scary.

Just so you know, you’ll probably get a much better response on this forum if you can the textspeak and instead write in English.

Fine. I’ll translate:

I want intimacy but I’m afraid of it. I’m afraid being a nag. Afraid of being seen for who I am. Families are messy. People say the wrong things. Some injuries and personal insults take longer than they should to recover. We all have an idea of how things should be, but they will never be that way. The way things are imagined. The way people should react. Some people are too sensitive. Others are too insensitive. People rub each other the wrong way. There are not perfect friendships, relationships, solution. Not all problems get resolved like they do in films. There are lingering feelings of hate, inadequacy, envy, jealousy, etc THEN you die. You leave this world with a mess you created. I’d like to believe love is more resilient. Love in and of itself is scary. I often wonder how God will judge of us if we are depraved right to the core.

It sounds like you’ve had some bad experiences with people, possibly while you were growing up? Anyway, try not to have expectations about how others will/should/could act. Intimacy, among other things, is difficult to attain when expectations for others are too high. Just keep moving forward with your life and don’t try to drag everyone with you, let them be, only God can move their heart.

This world is a plot from heqq; get used to it, count it toward your penance, and move on.

O Lord, your last sentence has to be most difficult part. I cannot make anyone love me. They choose to or not.

Same here. You and me both.

Don’t worry about it, I’m getting used to it.

Is it odd my first reaction to reading the thread title was that the OP has a fear of Southwest Airlines?

That’s how it is for all of us, really.

The only one who can love us perfectly, is God. Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for us, on the cross. He knew that He would be rejected.

We can only love each other imperfectly.

When we choose to love each other, there is risk involved. We can love someone who may not love us back; our love may be rejected when we choose to love someone else; different scenarios can happen.

However, we may love one day and find that our love is returned, whether in friendship or in romantic love.

So, in my opinion, it’s worth taking that risk to love, because you may never know the outcome of that chance that you may take. 🙂

I do not get this whole God thing. He commands us to be perfect but most days we cannot. We have messy feelings that get in the way of acting rationally. We have egos that get in the way of us following the truth. We are blinded by our ignorance from knowing the truth. Most people’s insults, snubs, sarcastic comments hold truth in them. Some of us are stronger than others. Some are weaker. I should be happy. There is so much to smile about.

I am kind of dumb, but where in the Ten Commandments does God say we MUST BE PERFECT, but to strive for perfection as He says the most important commandment is love. Jesus was loved by some and hated by many, esp. those in authority. True love is forgiving, as Jesus was on the cross. Jesus knows we are human and are bound to make mistakes. We want to be loved and forgiving, but we are a little stingy in the giving in return. Sure, life gets messy at times and we don’t always behave in rational ways, but that’s what makes us human. Egos don’t stop you from finding the truth. We know the TRUTH. God loves us. Egos keep us from finding the truth about ourselves. Yes, some of us are weak and others are strong and carry us. Happiness? Do you really want it? It is sometimes a State of Mind and often elusive, but also like the brass ring. You have to grab for it and hang on. Happiness does come from God. It is there for you and if you are blindsided, well you must strive for it. Ignorance comes from self. Peace, happiness and prayers for you.

Yes, there is a lot that can go wrong, but there is also a lot that can go right.

Lately I’ve been feeling down because of my children. They really are great kids and are not getting into any real trouble, but still they have so many tantrums, make so many messes, break so many rules, and so on, it’s difficult to be a good parent. At Mass today it occurred to me that all of God’s children are just like that. We disappoint, we make messes, and we sin over and over again, but God loves us through it all. Why is that? Perhaps he knows that much good will come of it, and that it will be worth the trouble.

Life is like that too. God bless you as you struggle to make the best of it!

Dr. Seuss believed that love was two people joined together in mutual weirdness.
