Fear the Lord!

Psalm 103:11 – For as the heavens are high above the earth,
so surpassing is His kindness toward those
who fear Him.

Psalm 103:17 – But the kindness of the Lord is from eternity to
eternity toward those who fear Him.

These are from the psalm of today’s saint, John Bosco.

I wasn’t aware the Church was simply a place to learn. If you were properly taught, you wouldn’t think that either.

To walk away willingly from the Eucharist tells me that you don’t believe in the Eucharist as the Church teaches. You may have invented your own rationalization, but its not the Church’s teaching, or you couldn’t even have been dragged away.
 
Cheeto, I know there are many, many references in Scripture about “fear” of the Lord.

That was not my question. My question was, and is, what does “fear the Lord” mean. I have never felt any fear of God.

Several responders have said I should think of it as “awe” of the Lord.

Your opinion?

Well, I didn’t really expect you to understand. It’s cool, I guess. :o

I’m not trying to rationalize anything. I just feel free, and I’m grateful that I had God with me throughout the entire way; even now, for me to reminisce the times when I needed Him most.

But, I’m wasting my breath. Like I said before, I don’t expect you to understand.

Have you heard this one: the fool says in his heart that there
is no God. Therefore, to become wise, He would start by
fearing the Lord, that He would not save him from the calamity
that is to come.
