I am new to the Church. I have never followed a church calendar before. Is there some resource that I can glance at that will tell me when the Holy Days of Obligation are, the solemnities, feast days, and anything else I need to be aware of throughout the year? I live in the US.

Go to the website of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and do a search and browse around the website. You will find a wealth of information there that will benefit your journey greatly, and it is all at your fingertips. I highly recommend this site for any Catholic.

Here is the home link:

Yes to the above.
Particularly, during Christmas time, go by your parish and pick up the free calendar that most all parishes give away. They have all the holy days, feasts, and Days of Obligation listed.

Holy Days of Obligation will be heavily promoted in your parish bulletin as well. You can’t miss them.

Welcome home!

Keep in mind that if you are traveling around Holy Days (even in the United States and US Territories) the Holy Days may “change.” Meaning that in some nations the obligation for a Holy Day might either be dispensed or moved to Sunday. Also some diocese/nations have extra Holy Days, like St Partick’s Day in Ireland:

God Bless

You can check the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary, solemnly defined book. It has the feast days of the most importance theological calendar of the year.
