Dear Brothers and Sisters,

How very appropriate that Pope Francis’ homily today, on the Feast of the Holy Name of Mary concerns “Divisions in the Church”. See HERE. It is approriate because isn’t it usually the Mother who gathers the Family? Isn’t the Mother often called the “heart of any family”?

Please let us pray to Our Lady today and ask her to help us to bring Jesus to all we meet, as she did on this earth. As St. Teresa of Calcutta told her Missionaries of Charity, “Pray the work”. Whatever works we may be involved in at home, school, or whatever our service to others – let us pray and work in union with Mary, for Jesus. Let us receive Him sacramentally and spiritually, and find Him in serving others. Let us especially pray and work for unity within the entire human family and in the Family of God, His Church.

Come Holy Spirit, overshadow us as you overshadowed Mary. By the power of Your Grace, fill us with Your Love and enable us to bring Jesus to others, as Mary did on earth and continues to do by her intercession from heaven.

Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us and with us.
Jesus, we trust in you!

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Thank you for sharing. 🙂

To His Majesty, The King of Kings on this day I say:

Christ Jesus, I acknowledge You King of the universe.
All that has been created has been made for You.
Make full use of Your rights over me.

I renew the promises I made in Baptism,
when I renounced Satan and all his pomps and works,
and I promise to live a good Christian life
and to do all in my power
to procure the triumph of the rights of God
and Your Church.

Divine Heart of Jesus,
I offer you my efforts
in order to obtain that all hearts
may acknowledge your Sacred Royalty,
and that thus the Kingdom of Your peace
may be established throughout the universe.

Amen.

I went to Mass yesterday (Sept 12th), which was being offered for the repose of my mother’s soul. She has been gone for 3 years. I was delighted that it was the feast of the Holy Name of Mary. I could celebrate both my mothers at Mass!

I do miss my mother terribly but Mary is my comfort.:hug1:

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I understand how it is to miss our earthly Mothers who have gone before us into eternity, and I also understand how very precious a gift our Mother Mary is, and what a comfort and strength Mary is for all of us. How sweet of the Good God to give you the opportunity to honor both Mothers yesterday on Mary’s Feast Day! 🙂
