Feast of the Annunciation 2013

Can someone please accurately tell me when the Feast of the Annunciation is this year? Traditionally it falls on March 25th, however that is Holy Week, so some sources I have found on the internet show it will be on April 8th.

I would like to know which day to know when to begin the Total Consecration to Mary!

Yes, according to my calender, the Annunciation will be moved to April 8th this year.

Easter is very early. 🙂
 
No feast, not even a solemnity, can take precedence over either Holy Week or the Octave of Easter. Since 25 March falls on the Monday of Holy Week this year, we can’t celebrate the Annunciation then. That celebration is transferred to the first day after the Octave of Easter ends, which is 8 April.
 
This transfer happens fairly often, because of the chance that either Holy Week or Easter Week fall during the last week of March. The solemnity of St. Joseph (19 March) is also often transferred from Holy Week until after the Easter Octave.

For Byzantine Catholics who celebrate Easter according to the Julian calendar the feast of Annunciation falls in the second week of Great Lent…no need to transfer anything…maybe the Latin church should consider re adopting the Julian calendar 😃
 
Thanks for the clarification! So since the Feast of the Annunciation is celebrated 2 weeks later than usual, would it be accurate of me to say the consecration would be pushed back 2 weeks as well?

Hmmm… Does this mean Christmas will be celebrated on January 8, 2014??
