Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary today!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The Church in her wisdom, placed immediately after the Feast of the Sacred Heart, this day to honor the Immaculate Heart of His Mother and our Mother Mary. Today is also the First Saturday of June. Jesus and Mary appeared to Sister Lucia of Fatima in 1925, asking for reparation to Mary’s Immaculate Heart:

The Apparition of December 10, 1925

On this day Our Lady, holding Her Immaculate Heart in Her Hand, appeared to Lucia, and by Her side stood the Child Jesus on a luminous cloud. The Child Jesus said: “Have compassion on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother, covered with thorns, with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to make an act of reparation to remove them.”

Then the Blessed Virgin Mary said to Lucia: “Look, my daughter, at My Heart, surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce Me at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. You at least try to console Me and say that I promise to assist at the hour of death, with the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, shall confess, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary, and keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me.”

By God’s Grace, let us do all we can to make reparation to our Mother for all the blasphemies committed against her. They seem to be increasing every day. Jesus gave Mary to us to be our Mother – speaking to John, Jesus also spoke to us: “Behold your Mother.”

It is sometimes asked why Our Lady asked for Communions of reparation on five first Saturdays, instead of some other number. Our Blessed Lord answered that question when He appeared to Sr. Lucia May 29, 1930. He explained that it was because of five kinds of offenses and blasphemies against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, namely: blasphemies against her Immaculate Conception, against her perpetual virginity, against the divine and spiritual maternity of Mary, blasphemies involving the rejection and dishonoring of her images, and the neglect of implanting in the hearts of children a knowledge and love of this Immaculate Mother.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of us all, pray for us.
O my Jesus, pardon us and save us from the fires of hell. Draw all souls to heaven especially those in most need of Your Mercy.

Thanks for your reply. How we need to love our Blessed Mother more! Her words to Sister Lucia so touch my heart, each time I read them:

Look, my daughter, at My Heart, surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce Me at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. You at least try to console Me…keep me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me."

Mary’s words, “keep me company” remind me of Jesus’ words to His disciples in the Garden of His Agony : "Then He said to them, “My soul is consumed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with Me.” (Mt 26:38) I try to make every Saturday a special day to make little acts of reparation to Mary, our Mother.
