While it is not a holy day of obligation, it is certainly a pious act of love to attend Mass today.

The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord marks the first time that He physically entered the Temple This was forteold both by the porphet Malachi (first readnig) and the responsorial psalm. It also completes the Christmas Season (at least under the old calendar) as it marks 40 days after the Nativity of the Lord. Its juxtaposition also foreshadows the Paschal Triduum, as evidenced by the prophecy Simeon uttered to the Blessed Mother.

I agree. Every day is an excellent day to attend mass.

I attend daily mass in the morning. Was not able to go before work today (we should have the Monday after super bowl off 😃 ) so I thought I would go after work. Just wondering if it was a Holy Day or not.

Thanks everyone!
