Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Perhaps some are unaware of the connection between the First Saturday Devotion of Reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and her apparitions to the three shepherd children at Fatima.

Consider Our Lady’s words:
“Jesus wishes to establish devotion to my Immaculate Heart in the world. I promise salvation to those who embrace it.” (June 13, 1917)
"Sacrifice yourselves for sinners and say often whenever you make a sacrifice: ‘O Jesus, it is for love of You, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.’ " (Our Lady, July 13, 1917)
“Pray much and make sacrifices for sinners, for many souls go to hell because there is no one to make sacrifices for them.” (Our Lady, August 19, 1917)
Today is the First Saturday of February; if you are unable to participate at Mass and receive Holy Communion, by God’s Grace, please take time to pray the Rosary and “keep our Mother company” pondering the Mysteries of her Life with Jesus.

If you are interested in learning more, see: HERE

Thanks, Maria Christi, for a timely reminder… I’m taking your advice…
🙂

Maria Christi,

Thank you for the timely notice. I have a couple of questions concerning the “DEVOTION OF THE FIVE FIRST SATURDAYS". I would appreciate if you or any other interested forum member would address them.

Question 1: Does attending the Saturday Vigil Mass (after 4:00 PM) and receiving Holy Communion meet the Devotion requirements?

Question 2: Can one pray the Rosary and comply with the 15 minute mediation at home, instead of before or after Mass in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament?

Thank you.

God Bless and Peace to all.

I was told by a Priest that the Sat. evening Mass cannot be for both as it is considered a Sunday Mass. And yes you can say the rosary and meditate at home. God Bless, Memaw

Do you have to do them in order? How do you offer them to the Immaculate Heart of Mary?

I have some problems with this. As stated on the website you gave a link to.
  1. THE DAILY ROSARY FOR PEACE:
“Pray the Rosary every day in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary to obtain peace in the world . . . for she alone can save it.” (Our Lady, July 13, 1917)
‘for she alone can save it’? If Mary has the power to save the world, that would make her a deity. Not possible.
  1. DEVOTION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY:
“Jesus wishes to establish devotion to my Immaculate Heart in the world. I promise salvation to those who embrace it.” (June 13, 1917)
Mary promises salvation if you establish a devotion to her? That’s blasphemes. The way to salvation is through Jesus the Christ, not Mary. It sounds very close to Jesus’ temptation in the desert when the devil took Jesus to a mountain top to show him all the kingdoms of the world.

Matthew 4:9 (RSVCE)

*and he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” *

The first paragraph on that website states: Fatima is a call from the Mother of God for a renewed fidelity to penance and prayer, which basically is the message of the Gospel.

I don’t believe the message of the Gospel is penance and prayer.

I find this sort of thing very disturbing.

Dear SJacob,

God sent Mary to Fatima, as He alone can dispatch His Messengers – be they Angels or Saints. Mary is the most Holy of all the Saints because by God’s Plan, He has willed to send Jesus Savior of the World through her. It is His Will to save us by the Perfect Offering of His Son, and Jesus came to us through Mary. We return to Him through her and Jesus. God does not change.

As Eve was the first to listen to the tempter. On the other hand Mary, by God’s Singular Grace, was preserved free from sin. Mary listened to God’s messenger, the Angel Gabriel. Mary by a free choice, said “Yes” to God’s Plan.

Eve did not ponder God’s word to her and to Adam, but Mary pondered God’s Word in her heart before, during and after Jesus became Incarnate in her womb. She alone of all the human persons who ever lived remained sinless, Mary alone carried the Incarnate God within her womb. As He grew she continued to listen to God’s Will as Jesus lived, preached, died and rose again and now sits at the Right Hand of the Father. . We cannot even imagine all God’ Beautiful work in the heart and soul of Mary.

Because Mary was ever Faithful she is an icon of the Church for all of us, She is both Mother and Model. Mary is all we are called to be, if we too say “yes” daily to God’s Word for us. Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary helps us to see by faith, all the beauty God wants to work in our souls. Pondering the mysteries of the Rosary can bless us!

Rather than being disturbed by words taken out of context, I hope you will rather ponder what God has done – what He tells us He has done – by His Word in the Gospels. I hope you will begin to see the great Gift God has given to us when Jesus said from the Cross, “Behold your Mother”. If we continue to behold our Mother we will learn to love God more.

Mary is not mentioned often because the Gospel was primarily to bring people to the encounter with Christ. Nevertheless in Luke’s Gospel and in John particularly but also in Matthew and Mark, if we pray to the Holy Spirit with an open heart, God will give us more understanding of Mary’s words. She alone is the human person who lived most intimately and most beautifully her call into union with Christ and through the power of the Holy Spirit she is now in eternal Beatific Vision of the Trinity,

Because satan has such enmity for Mary, we need to look to her to see how we too can renounce him, all his pomps and works and all his empty promises. With Mary let us stand at the cross of Jesus with confidence in His Mercy through her intercession.

If you want to debate this further please post your concerns to a Debate area of the Forum. I’ve got a really bad cold/cough and can’t stay at the computer. Thanks.

Thank you for your reply. Sorry to hear you are under the weather, never fun. Unfortunately, nothing you stated addresses the concerns I raised. Except implying that I am taking words out of context. The website doesn’t leave much to the imagination and is very clear. Maybe someone else could explain the questions raised? Thanks!
