Last night, I decided to SUBMIT to your arguments, which I presume must be in line with the teaching of the church.

I think more than anything, it must have been divine intervention that allowed me to just be obedient, even though I still don’t fully understand or agree with the teaching. In addition, I found that I could not live at peace with myself, not fully knowing if I was correct in the eyes and judgeet of God.

I didn’t want to risk living in mortal sin, or living as rebel cathlic, essentially injuring my God and endangering my soul.

Also, I want to thank the Posters for the patience and fortitude in their answers. Lastly, this morning, I found that the last couple of posters did find definitions of Masterbation, that do not limit it to “self-initiation”, which was very helpful and strengthened the willful decision I made last night to abandon my will to the will of the church.

You are practically me! My third daughter is now 8 months old and we sure had a hard time with the return of the regular cycle too. What helps me and will probably help you too is to step back and examine the PRINCIPLES. I find that when I focus on following the RULES, I can rationalize nearly anything. But when I examine the principles in play, the Holy Spirit supercharges my conscience and makes everything clear (if not easy!).

WHY is contraception wrong in the first place? Because it is an action taken by the couple to try to grasp the unitive pleasure of sex while refusing the outcome God ordained for sex at that time and place. Note that this is different than NFP because on the fertile days we do NOT grasp for the please, we fast and abstain from it because we have a just reason to avoid.

When a couple engages in mutual masterbation, it is not different than if they just used a condom and finished the job vaginally. They have attempted to have the unitive while refusing the procreative. Of course the REASON this is wrong is that the refusal of the latter violates the integrity of the former in the process. All that is left is mutual gratification. As seductive as that it, you already know it isn’t good for you.
