Fed up with my parish; please pray

I am really upset about something that happened at church. I don’t really want to go into all the details, but I feel that I and some other people were insulted at a new prayer group. I’m not going back to the group. But given that the upset involves two of our four priests, it’s a big deal.

My choice is to stay and just get over it or leave. My pattern in the past has been, if I leave, I don’t go to church again for years. And I mean years. I was even scouting out Episcopal churches in my area.

Please pray for me to have some wisdom to overcome this situation. :bighanky:
 
Praying to the Holy Spirit to give you guidance, direction, strength, fortitude and wisdom in your time of need.

I’m sorry that you’re struggling with this, but I must ask: is there a particular reason that you could not start attending a different Catholic church in your area? Unless you live in a small town or rural area, most areas have multiple Catholic churches that you could attend. In the area I grew up, there was a Catholic church every couple of miles (or closer in some cases). In the area where I currently live, there are at least ten churches that are within a close driving distance. I have been to nine of those churches for Mass; some of the priests do a better job than the others.

If I may ask, why don’t you start searching at your neighboring parishes?

Are you upset with something that is contrary to catholic teachings? The problem may be with you if you are upset that Priests are telling their flock how to live Catholic lives. Priests have an obligation to make sure that Church prayer groups follow Catholic Teachings.

Either way, I will pray you find Peace.

Praying. You’ve given us such beautiful prayers. I certainly will reciprocate. Try your hardest to reconcile. Jesus was silent when attacked.
