I feel very melancholic when I sin. I was doing great today all day by not sinning, and then before I knew it I have 3 sims already committed and I feel so sad because it’s barely Sunday and I still have an entire week of sinning before I can go confess. I wanted to last sin free until this Tuesday, for the obligatory feast day so that I could receive communion but now I can’t. How do you all feel or what do you do after you’ve sinned? I feel like just so sad that I’ve let God down once again.

Good! Me too. It makes me want to die. It is a grace from God. He is also sad when we sin, but He loves us infinitely so what do you expect? He wants us to walk in the Spirit and be Holy and Pure.

I assume you are talking about grave sins here, because you are saying you can’t receive Holy Communion. Or are you just like me, someone who hates all sin so much that you can’t really distinguish between grave and small sins very well because virtually all sins make you want to die?

Try to make a perfect act of contrition and get to Holy Confession as soon as possible. Ask God for peace. I normally keep begging Him because He has been so merciful to me that even small sins weigh heavily on my conscience. I don’t rest easily until He grants me peace. Just say “I love you God, I’m sorry, please grant me peace Lord. Thank you for your grace. Thank you for your love.” and of course in Jesus name.

You can normally get a confession after mass on weekdays. I do this often

God is calling you to a high degree of holiness. You might as well forget about the world and just focus on Him. You probably asked Him for this grace just in different words. He loves you. This is good for your eternity and the eternity of others. Thank Him for the great grace He has given you and next time you are tempted PERSEVERE in prayer until the temptation is over. Do that every time you are tempted. You can not sin and talk to Jesus and our Mother at the same time.

I love you and I salute you

Yes! I think you understand how I feel. These sins probably aren’t grave but to me it’s just horrid. But thank you for this response, I will keep preserving. God bless.

I just realized something. You might be like me, someone who ALWAYS prays when they know they are being tempted. It is when you don’t realize you are being tempted that you sometimes sin because you don’t realize you need to pray until it is too late.

Then, once you sinned, you start questioning how bad of a sin it was and you can’t rest because you can’t figure it out and all you know is it makes you want to die. I messed up today too and am having trouble discerning the gravity. Pray for me I will pray for you.

I think the answer to our problem is to stop spending any measurable amount of time not in prayer. We will probably not be able to avoid ALL sin, but at least all willful sin. Of course, we already know we are supposed to pray without ceasing - but we don’t for some reason. At least I don’t. That’s what I need to work on. Ask God to help me.

True sorrow brings peace and confidence, because it comes from the Spirit of God. As soon as we fall into sin, we must hasten to the Sacred Heart. Our Lady will take us there immediately if we go to her. God rejects no one who seeks Him, because no one can seek Him without His Divine Grace.

Sins of spiritual discouragement are generally worse than the sins we deplore, according to St. Catherine and others. Discouragement springs from self-love; we are upset that we have fallen, not so much because of the offence we have given to Divine Love, but because of our own loss and humiliation. To overcome this, we must recognise that we are nothing and can do nothing without God. This knowledge will keep us more aware of God’s mercy towards us, which is the sole cause of any goodness we possess, including sorrow for sin, the theological virtues, and any movement towards God.

Don’t be discouraged when you fall. Humble yourself, thank God for touching your heart with the infinitely precious grace of repentance, and keep the eyes of your soul fixed on His loving gaze.

“Benigne, since when hast thou found that thou dost increase my glory, promote My interests, and make reparation for thy faults by keeping away from Me?”

Pax Domine!

Several parishes in my area are doing a special event for the Immaculate Conception tomorrow in the evening with adoration alongside confessions followed by Mass. See if anywhere in your area is doing something like this. Otherwise try a daily Mass in the morning and see if you can find Father afterwards.
