Please pray for me. My cousin started to go to a Protestant church and has been saved as of 3/20/11 (that is what she put on her Facebook page) A lot of her friends were congratulating her. I posted on her page this, "

As the Bible says, I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8), but I’m also being saved (1 Cor. 1:18, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12), and I have the hope that I will be saved (Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15). Like the apostle Paul I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13)."

No one replied back but her new boyfriend wrote “baby you know what you felt to make you get saved, and thats between you and god no one else…”

She emailed me and said that I should be happy that she has God in her heart and she thinks I’m being negative and she doesn’t want negativity in her life. She told me she is still a Catholic and I told her that she wasn’t a Catholic if she is attending another church that is not Catholic. I told her that if she feels that I’m negative then we should make an appt w/the Priest and talk to him.

Please pray for my family. I keep sending her stuff about Catholicism. should I stop sending her stuff or continue. I really need your help. My family thinks it is just a phase she is going through.
She hasn’t responded back

I think you should try posting this thread in a different forum so people can give you advice. Here we aren;t suppose to give advice-only pray for your intentions. I will absolutely pray for you and your friend. God bless!

“O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You!”

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, and deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now and will be forever. Amen.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You!
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Thy kingdom come!
Amen.

Just start another tread and have two going, one for pray, the other for advice!!

I will be praying for you cousin. What you wrote on facebook is quoting scripture is perfect, you really know your apologetics.

I guess I would tell her that she is concidered a “Fallen away Catholic”, all she has to do to come back is go to confession and start going to Mass. Give her some hope, love and acceptance back into the church.

May all the saints, the souls in purgatory and the Holy Innocents pray for your cousin to the Lord our God.

An Our Father, Hail Mary, a Glory Be and a Fatima Prayer for you and your cousin. + Amen.

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us form the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of your mercy. Amen.

If she has let Jesus into her heart, then that is a good thing (especially if she was living a life without Him). Hopefully this will eventually lead her back to the Church, but for now it sounds like she is very excited about this new found relationship (like a newly wed couple). Eventually, it will wear off when she realizes that she will need to build on that relationship and will have nothing except the Church that Christ established (the Catholic Church) to help her on her faith journey.

So, I think that you are going to need to be patient because you could be pushing her away with all the info that you give her. But I know that it is difficult to see and understand why someone would leave our beautiful church. The Church that Jesus founded and loves so much.

I am praying that she brings her new found love back home into the Church …
