Hi,

I need your prayers please, I have been going through long term of feeling down. I feel very lonely and I can’t help it anymore. I don’t see any reason to be happy in this life. Please pray that God take the cloud of darkness from my mind and to heal me and restore me. Thank you

Grant me Your Spirit

Holy Spirit, I need wisdom, discernment and unconditional love. Will You share Yours with me? Help me to persevere in these necessary virtues, even where there is wounding within me greater than anyone is aware. Help me to carry my daily responsibilities with faith and hope.

(Help me to forgive those who have sinned terribly against me or my loved ones). I need healing for injuries and scars that prevent me from fully becoming the person I am created to be. Come into my mind and soul, and help me through the rest of my life.

I need You, Holy Spirit. Please access the gifts and beauty of my unique creation in God’s image. For others’ benefit and for Your glory, give me a deep appreciation and use of the goodness, loveliness joy and blessing of this creation that You mean me to be. August 2004

“Pray for a strong spirit, the Spirit of God. And thank God often for yourself, for His gift to you.” Priest in Confession, Divine Mercy Sunday

To Jesus: gratitude

Jesus, although divine, You became human to teach and redeem us. As infant, child and youth You played, studied, laboured, and grew in obedience, cheerfulness, gentleness and strength. Behind Your eyes lay deepening knowledge of Your true origin, growing knowledge of God and man, creation and life. Your heart bore love that is wondrous, merciful, and eternal.

As man, You taught, healed, and shared Your life with other men, slipping away to pray to the Father of all life. You worked and socialised, enduring and enjoying human experience in everything but sin. Yet as You faced death in terrible aloneness, the putrid deluge of all humankind’s sins oozed upon You, to the nauseated anguish of your sinless spirit. Yet, You held out Your arms to bear the weight of all the darkness of our human race.

In the Garden rebelling flesh sweated like drops of blood as Your humanity cried out to Love Itself for kind release. Yet You humbly, praying, grasped the will to save each person from eternal discord, sorrow and death—although many will only half-heartedly welcome Your gift and numerous others will reject it. Despite Your sorrow at this bitter truth, Your love prevails in total sacrifice. Forever, therefore, through Your mercy, I owe You my eternity—of fulfilment, happiness and peace, of kinship with the almighty Father, in loving communion with all who accept Your redemptive Sacrifice, and through the divine Spirit, make Your life their own.

God Incarnate, what is Your will for me? I am redeemed by You, and come to You in all my burdened brokenness. I offer You my being, gifts, virtue; and even, in deep humility, I give You my faults and sins, pleading for Your pity, healing, and communion.

Jesus, as man, You lived and died for me, as God can make me whole, and make me wholly Yours. This enduring grace I also seek for each soul in my care, for am I not, as You have proved to be—for his sake and for Your glory—my brother’s keeper!

The Gospel way

Jesus and Mary, you lived with Joseph in holy ordinariness, loving others as yourselves and God above all. You lived in prayer and penance, in wondering and in faith, in obedience and chastity. You lived in daily labour offered to God in simplicity and love. Please guide me along this gospel path, so that the God delights in my life and finds it a useful tool to bring closer the coming of the kingdom.

I thank God for the ordinary yet precious gifts I have received…of Creation and redemption…of persons whom I cherish…of my life, personality and individual identity…of my soul, mind, and body…of the little treasures God has given me for His delight and for others’ benefit.

I desire to love God above all and others with God’s love. I confess my sinfulness, accepting forgiveness and grace, knowing that God is my strength and virtue. I can only serve in faith and faithfulness as you did, knowing that God loves me in my lowliness.

Jesus and Mary, please unite me with you in loving, prayerful service. Through God’s merciful love and your merits, I offer each moment of my life in its ordinariness. Please make me worthy of your kinship, so that I honour God while serving others, even if the effects are hidden from me. For in my trust and self-surrender, God may flood grace in living gospel through me for the sake of the kingdom.

I praise and thank God, who stoops with tender, loving humility to touch, transform, and share His life, His Son, His Spirit of love and truth, with anyone as ordinary as I am! January 1981

O God, I humbly implore…
In my lack of trust, let me live faith.
In my disappointment, let me live hope.
In my bleakness, let me live joy.
In the emptiness of my heart, let me live love.
In my deprivations, let me value what is precious before You.
In my weakness and illness, grant me spiritual health.

In my anger and resentment, let me live generosity and forgiveness.
In my detachment, let me live community.
In the difficulties of commitment, let me be dedicated.
In my failures, let Your Spirit bless and heal.
In my successes, let Your will be served.

In human reality, let me live spiritual wisdom.
In maturity, let me become true child of the Father.
In my individuality, let me live in Eucharistic communion.
In the kind and warm things that I try to do, let Your grace flow.

In the confusion of my life, in my striving and good intentions
—regardless of my doubts, mistakes and infirmities,
let me fully live Your will in vibrant, humble trust.

Jesus make me who I am created to be

Loving God You loved me into existence. Please help me to fully live Your dream of me. Please help me to become truly that person, so that others can experience Your love, goodness, and beauty in me, and can receive the blessings You intend for them through me.

Let me delight You, by being an open doorway into You for others. Let me be a living tabernacle of Your love, an overflowing crystal chalice of Your love, a powerhouse of prayer and an instrument of Your love and healing to others.

Please make me who I am in the dream You always had of me. 2003

Prayer to St. Elizabeth Seton For Constancy And Comfort

Your life was full of immense suffering, yet you maintained your faith. Even during your deepest sorrows, you served others. You said, “Tribulation is my element,” and saw beyond your suffering and into others. I would ask you, Mother Seton, to stand with me when I hurt the most. Help me develop compassion - compassion for my suffering and through it, compassion for the wounds and sorrows that all other people hold. Show me the path through my sufferings that will lead me to know more love, and through that love know more about God. Amen.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Holy Spirit, come into TrueFaithSeeker’s heart; draw it to Thee by Thy power, O my God, and grant her charity with filial fear. Preserve her, O ineffable Love, from every evil thought; warm her, inflame her with Thy dear love, and every pain will seem light to her. My Father, my sweet Lord, help her in all her actions. Jesus, love, Jesus, love. Amen.

Praying for you to find something good through the power of the Holy Spirit to fill in the emptiness and loneliness that you are currently feeling …

A Novena Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Sacred Heart of Jesus, we know that there is but one thing impossible to You: to be without pity for those who are in suffering or distress. Look down on us, we beg of You and grant us the grace which we humbly and earnestly implore, through the Immaculate Heart of Your most sorrowful Mother to whom You confided us as her children, and whose prayers are all powerful with You. Amen.

I will pray for you, and gladly. But please, please, consider seeing a doctor. I have suffered from depression for several years, and I know how dark and difficult it can be, no matter how wonderful your life may look from the outside. I don’t know you at all, haven’t been here long enough to know who folks are yet, but I feel your pain, and want you to know you are NOT alone!!

My prayers are with you.

Heavenly Father, I know I am close to despair. I feel so tempted to give up, to withdraw from life and religion and let the world simply carry me along.
Everything seems so meaningless and nothing appeals to my better instincts.
Help me to remember that Jesus gave meaning to everything in the world.
Let me bank on that fact and get over this time of despair,
to really believe in the depths of my being that there is a reason for living.
Show me the reason for my life and tell me what I must do.
Bring home to me that I am never alone, but that You are with me even in the depths of despair. Remind me that no matter what I may endure now,
an unending joy awaits me in the future if I but cling tightly to You
and your Son Jesus in the unity of the Spirit. Amen.

Father in heaven, God of power and Lord of mercy, from Whose fullness we have received, direct our steps in our every day efforts. May the changing moods of the human heart and the limits which our failings impose on hope never blind us to You, source of every good. Faith gives us the promise of peace and makes known the demands of love. Remove the selfishness that blurs the vision of faith. Amen.

I have been there! I felt down for a long time, but a Medication Change really helped
I will pray for you!

Im so sorry to see that you are feeling down and lonely . I know how you feel and have been there myself . Just know that God is with you always especially more when we are suffering . I have suffered from severe depression for over 20 years and have sadly not just contemplated suicide but have made 9 attempts but what i have realised is that you are not to blame for how you are feeling it is your illness . Try not to feel bad about yourself as there are many of us around the world who do care about you .
