Feeling grateful for my parents

I remember being a teen not wanting to hear what my parents say or ignoring their advice. Now as an adult, I am seeking out their advice and direction. Oh how things change.

I never realized how much my parents were correct about things until I was an adult and started having children of my own. It was always, “they are old, what can they know about being a teen in todays world”… apparently they knew a lot.
 
I couldn’t agree more! (unless it is from my mom about how I need to stop wearing flip flops all of the time)
 
As Mark Twain might have said (not sure, but it has been attributed to him):
“When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.”
 
My parents did not really give me lots of advice and guidance (middle child syndrome) but my mom has good fashion sense. I am SO thankful for that as she bought me clothes that I still use.

One piece of advice my mom gave me is to NEVER take photos you don’t want your parents or future kids to see, even if it’s password protected or anything. That one is honestly the most important advice I think many women especially need to follow.
