Feeling hopeless & frightened

It’s only recently I found out very few are saved, I was brought up believing only very evil people go to hell, I have been to most wretched sinner.

I’m sorry I cannot recall the exact quote or saint, but at least a few have said so little was required to attain heaven. So even if the vast majority are not saved, the means of salvation are not dreadfully impossible, for what we cannot do, God will give us strength to do…(I know, easier said than done and truly believed…)

We cannot all be heroic saints that we read about, but I’m sure if we live a life of charity, humility, faith, and hope to the extent that we can, God will provide the means for salvation…even if it means spending a long time in purgatory to expiate for our sins…

Be at peace. Though many may end up in Hell it is perfectly possible to avoid it oneself.

How to avoid hell. Obey the commandments. Strive to love God and your neighbor as yourself. Do your duties of your state of life to the best of your ability. Go to mass at least weekly. Go to additional masses when you can. Grow in love for the mass and really reverence Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Go to adoration. Say the rosary. Go to confession when you need to go. Try very hard to root sin out of your life. The only way to do this is by means of the Sacraments, confession and Eucharist. Practice charity. If you can help in your neighbourhood or parish to do a spiritual or corporal work of mercy then do so.

Heaven is not cheap. It costs. It is worth it. People work hard at school, college, university, in their jobs etc. And are prepared to do so for success and riches and status.

How much harder should we work to inherit the kingdom? God has given us everything necessary to win heaven. Be at peace. God bless you.

Most honest quote I have seen. Please do not let such thought make you feel hopeless and frightened. Above all, Jesus came to give us th efullness of life and desires our salvation so much that he gave his life for us. Does that mean nothing?
