Feeling hopeless

In the past six months, I have lost my grandfather, and then my family shunned me. I was able to escape an abusive relationship, only to fall in love with someone who doesn’t see me that way. My cat died and last night I lost my dog as well. I have lost all my friends but one and I can’t sleep alone another night.

I know people here have real serious issues and concerns, but I am feeling beyond empty. I need strength and comfort. I hurt all day every day. I’m unemployed so it gives me a lot of time to think and dwell on my mistakes and failures. Please pray for me. Please pray my life gets better and I get a silver lining.

My heart aches for your sorrow! You must feel so incredibly alone after all of that hardship. Please know that I am praying for you, that you find comfort and peace. :console:
 
I know what it’s like to have everything painful happen always. What I do is offer it united with Christ’s sacrifice, though Mary, for the Holy Sous in purgatory. Then I ask them to pray for me. It seems to work. I do the rosary and mass. And I pray to saints of impossible causes, and go to the blessed sacrament. These things work for me. And I pray and pray.
 
Prayers for you…

Suggestion as well…Since you are out of work and, as you say, have too much time to think…may I suggest that you spend some of that time in at church in adoration.
It doesn’t need to be at a formal adoration chapel. you can just go to your nearest Catholic Church and sit before the tabernacle - odds are you will be alone, just you and Jesus.
Pour out your heart to our Lord who is there with you.
Go ahead and lay out all of your complaints. But also thank Him for the many blessings He has given you each and every day…Even the gift of grief and sorrow is, in it’s own way, a blessing.
Ask Him to teach you the lessons that He wants you to learn.
It is something I have discovered in my own journey; that these lessons are real and available in all situations. Lessons about Love - even in sorrow.

May the Father, who is our Love, wrap you in his Loving arms and grant you peace.

P.S. Several years ago, when I felt at the end of my rope due to family medical issues, I wrapped myself in a throw, curled up in my recliner and bawled my eyes out. I pictured myself as a small child on God’s lap, and the blanket was His robes. All I could say in prayer was “I can’t hold on Lord, so just don’t let go of me”…
It was amazing how much that helped…

Keep it up! Sincere prayer is very powerful. Never give up. And take care of that Rosary.

I commend you to the Blessed Virgin Mary. I pray that you find strength, healing and comfort in a deep relationship with Our Mother Mary and pray that you recite the Rosary faithfully every day for the graces you need. May Mother Mary intercede for you and ease your suffering. May she help you to carry your cross courageously, patiently and lovingly. Amen.
 
May God shine His light in your life, to show you the path forward, and give you trust and comfort in Him, no matter what further trials you may face.

I am so sorry for your loss of your grandfather and your dog and cat too.I am also very sorry that your family have shunned you. So (((hugs))) for you and I shall indeed keep you in my prayers.
