Feeling nervous about the Fatima anniversary next year

I have felt quite nervous about the Fatima anniversary for a while, but the earthquakes in Italy have made me even more convinced that things are going from bad to worse. Is it a coincidence that this happened at the beginning of this jubilee year? The church has always taught that God chastises his flock, and earthquakes are one of his tools. (I don’t believe in the modern deist interpretation that nature just does it thing and what happens has nothing to do with God.)

I don’t think that it is a coincidence that all the churches in Norcia have collapsed. The faith in Europe has pretty much collapsed. Norcia is the birthplace of St Benedict, the patron saint of Europe, whose monasteries were the only centres of culture after the collapse of the Roman empire. That was a new phase in the christianising of Europe, a crucial phase. And now Europe has abandoned the faith for secular humanism.

I have gone back to the daily rosary, just praying that God has mercy on us. Not sure what to expect next year in relation to the Fatima anniversary, but I suspect things won’t change for the better. I wonder if people have become truly incorrigible.
 
I’m not sure where/when, but there was some prophecy/warning that future persecution will be like/greater than the persecution the early Church faced.

Wish I could remember…(I hope I’m recalling an approved private revelation.)

I wouldn’t doubt it as we have had 2,000 years to get it right and we seem to be far worse as Post Christians, than they ever were as new Christians!!! God will win in the long run but I want to be on HIS side NOW!! God Bless, Memaw
 
Not only is next year the 100 anniversary of Fatima, but it’s also the 500 anniversary of the Protestant Revolt and the 300 anniversary of the masons.

So I’m a bit nervous too. Something big is going to happen next year- we have to be vigilant in our prayer life and receive the sacraments as much as possible.

Fatima is very important and Russia is still in play here…the country already spread its errors of communism (china, cuba, vietnam, north korea, etc)

Fatima is a result of God sending His Mother to us. I have NO idea where the Amazing Fact’s thing came from but I can imagine. God Bless, Memaw

I’m not talking about the apparition per se, although no one is bound to it. I’m talking more about the way many Catholics regard it. Such as this thread, for example, and 2017. Counting days and years towards some hypothetical end of the world scenario much like the SDA’s do.

Just live your Catholic faith and let the future take care of itself. Anyone who tries to count days and years is assured to be one thing: wrong. That’s whether you’re Catholic or SDA.
 
I never heard that the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary spoken of at Fatima was the end of the world, but rather, the ushering in of an era of peace.

On another note, tomorrow’s a fateful election day …
could be the end of the world
as we know it.

I’m more worried at how many Catholics (on these forums nonetheless) are disrespecting Pope Francis and thinking by they can be their own pope if they disagree with him. That’s the predominate concern for me. 🤷

Try your best to resist temptation and stay free from sin I.e. Try to stay in the state of grace. Abandon yourself to the Lord’s will in as much as you are able. Go to Mass often. And confession when appropriate.

Pray the Rosary. Adore the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. God is good. All the time. He loves you. Stay close to Him and as St Pio said “pray, hope and don’t worry”.

Stay close to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and to Our Lady in the Rosary.
