Hi everyone…I’m gonna need some comforting words and/or a kick in the butt if you feel that’s what I need:o

It’s just that lately I’ve been feeling like things are never going to get better and I’m never going to move on from this place. The place where I feel I’ve been stuck for the last 3 years. I pray everyday, I’ve given it all to Him…or at least I try to.

With everything that’s been going on with my sister I’ve been praying for her a lot and for my parents for the strength to deal with this. I’ve been worried about this whole divorce thing, just when I think it’s over and done with something else comes up:mad:.

I just wish I had someone to share my worries with:(, I long to feel safe, secure, protected. I haven’t felt like that since I was single, at least then all I had to worry about was myself and I had friends and my family that I could lean on. Things have to be done around the house that a man would need to do, so I have to hire someone…how I wish I had a husband to help me with those things.

I’m the kind of person that hates to burden people, the tougher things get the more I withdraw. I deal with these things on my own and it can become so overwhelming. I just wish, sometimes, that there was someone that would take care of me, someone that would want to protect me, to keep me safe.

I wish there was someone to share the worries, trials and joys with. There’s definitely a reason why we weren’t made to be alone much less single parents:(.

I don’t know why I’m writing this, I guess I’ve shared so much with you already that I thought I could burden you one more time:o. You’ve all gotten me through so much…I pray you can help me once again, thank you.

Hi Lexee,

I wish I could give you some good answers or even a morsel of advice. But I can offer you prayers and support as one of your fellow CAFers…Please don’t ever feel you’re burdening anyone with your thoughts or situation.
We’re here to at least listen and maybe someone can help make sense of the crazy things we go through.

God Bless and take care…I will keep you in my prayers…

Oh, Lexee, I know just how you feel! You describe yourself about the same way I describe myself.

I’ve spent a lot of time feeling lonely and wishing that there is someone to talk to and to take care of me, like my H once did. One night, I just asked God to help me to look forward to my future, and my attitude began to change. I still have lonely times, but for the most part I like not having someone impose on me and my space.

I don’t like being the man of the house, and can’t really afford to pay a handyman. Some day, I’ll learn how to replace the tiolet handle guts, but I’ll never be able to work high on a ladder.

I don’t understand how some people find a new partner so easily, but since the divorce here is not final, I can’t really look. Even though it doesn’t stop H. 😉

I hate to burden people, too, and am usually the person people go to when they have problems. So, on the rare times I’ve asked for help, I’ve been shot down. That hurts, and is causing me to set some boundaries.

I can’t help you, but we can comiserate.

Sweetie, Our Father hears all our prayers and trials each day, our hard work and sacrifice build the path to Him. He has a time for everything and for us. I will keep you in my Rosary this week and ask the Blessed Mother to intercede for your intentions for you and your son. You can do it babe!😉

Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile show us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Lex, remember, you are human, and you have been through a lot. Personally, I keep waiting for the other shoes to drop, metaphorically, nowadays, as this year has been quite well “educational” for me.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and comforting thoughts. As I read them the tears stream down my face, I know I’m not alone, there are many people in my situation or worse yet and I feel horrible for even bringing this up and complaining about my situation:(.

I wondered a long time ago when I was going to “lose it” I knew I couldn’t have gotten over everything so easily. I realized, not too long ago, that I’ve been on “survival mode” God and the Blessed Mother got me through and helped me survive my situation, but I’ve never really dealt with what happened.

It finally hit me one day that ds and I were “replaced” we meant nothing to him. He just went out and found another woman and had another kid and presto he was done:mad:. How can someone who claims to love you so much trade you in like nothing. I tell myself that he’s the one with the problem and that I am a good wife and will be again…but I really don’t believe it. Down deep I wonder what I did…that we were, obviously, not good enough for him so how could we possibly be good enough for anyone else?

I’m sorry for going on and on…I hate feeling this way…I think I’m just tired of worrying all the time. Sometimes I wish I could just disappear:(.

Take care Lexee and please know that you’re in our thoughts and prayers. Know that our Lord and Blessed Mary are watching over you and your child…

lexee…
i believe that u r a good person and a good person is always a good spouse…
remember, my dear that u cant be replaced… u never had a place in his heart… i have a friend who’s X did the exact same thing… now he has given his child to his grandmother and is pretending to be happy… this was the guy who texted to his friend… that he finally had a family… and those words hurt my friend and her kids so much (her kid looked at his cell and saw the message)… they are just pretending since there is nothing else they can do…
i remember what i was going through and i remember these words which gave me so much comfort…

I DONT KNOW WHAT MY FUTURE HOLDS FOR ME BUT I KNOW WHO HOLDS MY FUTURE…

remember a good person is never forsaken by Jesus… God Bless and stay strong…

Lexee,

Pray continually, every waking hour, for God’s grace, which is divine help for perseverance.
Pray for perseverance, strength, clarity of mind, consolation, faith, hope, and love.
Pray for those you love. Offer up to God all of your troubles and worriesand burdens. Pray the rosary and novenas.
Pray as soon as you wake up and just before you fall asleep.

Attend mass as often as possible, every day if you are able.

Read the scriptures which tell of God’s saving mercy.

“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” (Matthew 11: 25-30)

What awesome words. Lexee, I will keep you in my prayers, and your little ones. Don’t ever let a mortal man make you feel like you aren’t good enough, no one would probably be good enough to someone like that. They need a lot of prayer too. God bless you!

Lexee!!! :console::hug3:Sweetie… I sooooo know! I just want you to know it isn’t you hon… he ran out and replaced you because he couldn’t live without you and he had to prove that he could…kwim? Wish I could hop in the car and come up to chi’ town and give you a hug in person! Take the time to heal…I thought a year was long enough for me… but that first date proved I was wrong… my date said…nope never been married, never had any kids and my first thought was, “Yeah I have heard that before!” My ex said exactly the same thing while he was married and had a kid!!! and didn’t even get a divorce before he married me!! I didn’t find out until 12 yrs later when we were separated and he got a notice of garnishment for that child he didn’t have with the wife he forgot about…

Lexee, you shouldn’t stuff your feelings, and this is a safe place to vent. I really know how you feel, and this is possibly the worse thing that ever happened to YOU, and you should acknowledge your feelings. Sure, there are a lot of people going through bad things right now, but you have your own problems and feelings, so don’t discount them.

There are nights that I lie in bed and just “complain” to GOd about my situation and feelings. He listens, doesn’t judge, and I feel better getting it off of my chest that way.

I came up with one thing that did help me. Think back to a time that you were happy, and happy with yourself. Get in touch with someone from that time, or spend some time doing something that made you happy at that time. I remembered taking horseback riding lessons, and being around horses, so I spend part of one day each taking care of a horse. He doesn’t care what I’ve been through, and seems to like my being around him, It’s very healing, and helps me to get through part of that days when my kids are with their dad. Maybe you can find something you once liked, or an old friend, and spend some time getting to know yourself again.

… Down deep I wonder what I did…that we were, obviously, not good enough for him so how could we possibly be good enough for anyone else?..
Perhaps, it was he who wasn’t good enough for you.

Kathy

In a rush right now, but, know I will be praying for you.

Big huge hugs!

:hug1: :hug1: :hug1: I’m so sorry you’re feeling so alone, Lexee. Don’t beat yourself up…you were a wonderful wife and you are an incredible mom. I’m with, Blest…wish I could come by with the other CAF ladies and give you lots of hugs and a good girls night. 🙂 :hug1: :hug1: :hug1:

Sorry to hear you’re going through a rough time. I’ll add you to my prayer list. I’m going through something of the same thing with my sister. It’s hard to trust God will see us through sometimes. :o

Thanks everyone:blessyou: ❤️ :hug3: :grouphug:, for your prayers and consoling words. I really appreciate them all, I guess I just needed to cry it out. I just get so tired of this situation sometimes and I feel like I can’t count on anyone:mad:.

Don’t people get tired of not honoring promises? Does a person’s word mean anything anymore? I doubt it!!! People can look at you straight in the face and just lie:mad:!!! I am so tired of having these kind of people in my life…will it ever stop:crying: :banghead:!!!

Praying for you, Lexee. You are never a burden here at CAF. Please continue to vent all you need…it’s healthy.

My own situation seems easy compared to yours since I don’t have children from my marriage and I no longer have to deal with lawyers (thank you, God!), but I know just what you mean about things around the house that you need a man to do. Frankly, I LOVE being single again and only miss marriage when 1) something heavy needs lifting and 2) I want to cook a big dinner. My solution…invite a male friend over to lift the stuff and cook him dinner. Problem solved! 😃 Did I make you laugh?

It will get better. Learn to lean on others, for the sake of your sanity. Yes, God does not intend people to parent alone…you can fill the gaps with friends, family, counselors, etc. That’s part of the communion of saints. Ask your family in Christ to help you. You may be amazed to learn it’s not a burden at all…but a blessing for many who love to help.
