šŸ‘‹ Hello everyone this is my very first post. Is anybody familiar with the Felician Franciscans? I am 25 and just recently became a candidate with them. :dancing: I was wondering if anybody has any experiences with the Felicians they could share. I know these sisters are big but I have only been able to meet with the very few sisters who are in my city. I’m just curious to see if anyone else has encountered any and if you have, what was your impression? I will provide a link for you

Thanks :signofcross:

I don’t have extensive personal experience with them. But their mother house is in my area. They have traditionally run schools for girls and women. Seems like a nice group of sisters. Like so many orders, there was probably a certain segment of a certain age that went a little left and loopy for awhile. But, generally, I would think that they are a solid community. Of course, everything is always a matter of one’s particular charism.

The U.S. provinces wear the modified habit. The Canadian province, which used to be chock full of young women, has decided to allow the optional wearing of brown or beige business suits, without the veil. Guess that province will soon nose dive.
Why are women’s communities running off the cliff like lemmings?
Some, such as certain Ignatian based communities, seem to thrive without the habit-but these are very few and far between. Most do not. Not so complicated, is it?

This is purely anecdotal, but the fact that the website has photographs of women under 67 in habits is a VERY hopeful sign.

You would not be alone, you will not be the last one who has to ā€œturn out the lightsā€.

All the sisters in my area do not wear habits 😦 They only wear for example a beige or brown skirt with white shirt and maybe a coat (at least they stick to Franciscan colors). They do offer the option of wearing the habit and I made it clear to my vocation director that I want to wear it. I heard also that the latest novices have all chosen the habit (I think they are relatively young). I was looking at a community before, but when told I could not wear a habit, I stopped discerning with them. It’s time to bring back the habit :choocho:

God bless :signofcross:

Hmm , I am glad someone seems to think something is going a bit strange with some of the communities for woman . Some seem to me to have some very worldly notions, I wont say here what I have found but some of the more liberal orders are very disturbing in thier additudes about the habit and personal time being an important element in community life . For me it about a devotion to God setting worldly things aside, What do You think . PS I like the Habit.
