My wife has started a Catholic T shirt company. She has a few designs already and a website.

Can any of you offer some feedback on the shirts or the website? Just to help us get an idea of where we want to go with this.

Thanks.

Congratulations to Mrs. Hoosier and may God bless your work!

As an elderly pedant and fully paid-up member of the grammar gestapo, I hope you won’t be offended if I point out a misplaced apostrophe.

Spring would lose its loveliness
(Its, not it’s)

Kind regards,
Bart

Maybe I’m wrong but It’s is correct. It’s is possessive, it’s loveliness.

No. Its loveliness is correct.
If you kept the contraction the sentence would read “it would lose it is loveliness.”

It is does not make the sentence grammatically correct.

The apostrophe is not needed.

But the designs are cute! So many Catholic tee are so casual, These look nice.
Hope the business blossoms!

“Its” is possessive, similar to “his” and “hers” except the latter two only occur in the pronominal sense.

“It’s” is short for “It is”.

If this is two clauses, the second meaning “It is loveliness”, the first saying “Spring would lose” but poetically not stating what, it is correct.

You may even wish to create an ambiguous, enigmatic impression (a play on the two words) around these themes, which is also poetic.

Interestingly my Shorter Oxford says “Its” was generally spelled “It’s” around 1600. So that could be a nice retro nuance.

They look nice. I don’t know what I can add. I mean I wanted to give you some neat slogans and stuff. But right now nothing is coming to mind. Maybe it’s because I’m too tired at this hour. I don’t know. Well good luck anyway.

Peace.

The tees are great! I love the slogans. I’d love to see some larger sizes though. Good luck to your wife.

I especially like the design of the women’s shirts and the sleeve design. Very nice shirts.
