Feminism?

The truth is there is liberal feminism and conservative feminism. Liberal feminism is sold by the media and the women of NOW. Pro “choice” is mandatory to be a liberal feminist along with male bashing attitudes that the ills of our female culture are primarily a result of men holding women back.

The conservative feminist is often found in the Catholic church and many Protestant groups like Concerned Women For America. They are a pro -life movement.

The “womens movement” of the 60s and 70s was more of a sexual revolution which ultimately failed miserably. Women wanted the unfortunate raunchy lifestyle that men had made a mess with, and they got it, and we all got a mess.

I think women should be feminine and men should be masculine. To me, that is what feminism should be about.

Feminism instead is about women becoming more masculine. I find this disturbing and highly unattractive in women. I struggle to even consider these women as real women.

Laws should not prohibit women from equal pay or equal employment, but a woman’s conscience should put motherhood (or holy vocation) above a potential career. Obviously not all women can do this, and many are left widowed, so they have to have an option to provide for themselves.

Women should have every legal right a man as. Men are not allowed to kill their children. Women should not be allowed to kill their children either. If a man kills his pregnant wife he gets two counts of murder. If a women kills her child she walks free.

Men should be the leaders of women as God has said through the scriptures. Men should be men and women should be women. The gender bending that we see in contemporary culture is an abominable distortion, a perversion of natural law that threatens the foundations of the familial unit in America.

This is an interesting point. I had a friend in one of my classes. A young woman in the class said women should be sexually free as men were. My friend responded by saying “Just because men were sexually promiscuous doesn’t mean they were right to do so. Maybe women were right, and maybe it’s the men who should adopt the woman’s way of sexual living.”

I find it horribly pitiful that liberal feminism abhors masculinity to the core, yet it is the very thing they seek to emulate. Feminism is so pitifully dependent on men. Feminists have achieved nothing without the approval of men. It was men who decided to give them the vote, it was men who decided to give them their rights. They took nothing on their own. Everything they’ve gotten has only been permitted and handed to by men out of sheer pity for women. If liberal feminists realized this, they’d wake up and scream at themselves in the mirror. They are a paradoxical movement who move with about as much pride and ignorance as a child who finally beat his dad in a foot race, oblivious to the fact that dad slowed down on purpose.

Women are beautiful and have power I couldn’t understand, men do the stuff they do trying to protect and cherish it…only the confused ones put the women down based on his insecurity and inability to accept that fact.

Many of these studies do not take into account all of the factors. They look at experience, education, age, etc., but then forget to take into account a major factor: time lost to pregnancy. This uncertainty means that a company would be without production for quite some time, and also helps explain lower wages.

lewrockwell.com/block/block112.html - Describing some lectures he gave at Loyola College.
[Not Sarcasm]:
Now thats a factor I have NEVER thought of in regards to pay differences (being a 19 year old male, I didn’t really knew it still existed).

With employers that give paid maternity leave, is the wage/salary typically lower, than in those that don’t give paid maternity leave?

And, to be fair, that is a factor that needs to be counted in someone’s pay - accountability. If a reliable, and important, worker couldn’t show up for 6 or so weeks, then that’s costing the company time and money.

EDIT: But should all women’s pay be lower, or just those who regularly get pregnant?

I guess it would depend, but unmarried women make basically the same amount of money as men.

Good luck being a single dad in the workforce. In many cases sympathies run high for for single moms (which just about every other women these days has ONE child and no man) and accommodations are made regarding child care. Been there.

There’s a nice line in the old Steven Seagal movie “Under Siege”. Seagal says to his female co star something like, "you believe in womens lib right. She says, “only when it works in my favor.” There’s some truth in that.

I’m a staunch anti-Feminist

However I don’t believe men are superior, nor women. We are apples and oranges. Different roles that we are suited for. Men and Women need each other and this whole Feminism/anti-Feminism is just designed to pit Man against Women so they don’t marry and have families. Men and Women are like rhythm and pitch both are worthless without each other.

Kanman must be a huge island of intelligence. Everyone bow. I’m sorry, I suppose none of this is very respectful. I did request that if anyone was to post on here. late and I betta be gettin to bed.

My point was very real and hardly ‘jab and run’ - I’ve been around a long time and it’s something I don’t do.

Translating my point. There’s a tendency to suggest that the world was ‘Pleasantville’ (ie like the film) and then a bunch of wicked witches turned up and magic-ed awfulness.

Thus ignoring, for example, that there’s been the biggest technological/industrial/economic/social revolution since people started building factories in Lancashire, Yorkshire and Staffordshire in the 18th Century (in other words, the start of the original Industrial Revolution) in the years since Second Wave Feminism appeared.

Blaming something you don’t like for all the perceived ills has its attractions to certain posters but just because things happen after an event, it doesn’t mean that they’re caused by it.

Why we are where we are is much more complex than that.

Perhaps you should look up the definition of “feminism”, it has nothing to do with about being feminine. Men can be feminists too. Neither is it about women becoming more masculine.

So a woman is not allowed a career if she has or will have children?

Where does the Church say God has said men should be leaders of women?

Re your words I have placed in bold. Women were given all these rights by God. It is not for any man to deprive any woman of her God given rights. I find some things said on this thread, horribly pitiful.
