And to be honest the pool of men to date and what not doesn;t seem to be too great either.
LOL And that is because of feminism. Men went right along with it! Sex without commitment? WooHoo! She can bring home the bacon? Whoo Hoo! The roles gave each one their own responsibillity, now, the roles are smeared, and both sides are selfish. It’s all about me, me, me.

“Marriage is a long path toward sanctification” said Pope Paul VI.

The selfish person, which the feminist movement encourages women to be, by denying that they “need” man…is always intent on satisfying her/his own whims.

Marriage and family asks that we instead, offer ourselves unselfishly to each other within the family…our spouse and our children and the one who lives out this plan will find that God rewards it, not just in the life to come, but even in this life. There is a higher and greater kind of happiness that He enerously grants to those who follow His ways.

Finally…the greatest, God Himself, obeyed human parents. Even though they were and are wonderful, it was still such a comedown for a Divine Person to obey and Mary, the greatest merely human person who ever lived (for her Son was not a human person. He
was a divine Person) **obeyed **Joseph. Joseph was a marvel of nature and grace, yet far below her in sanctity and merit.)

So again, God gaves us the greatest example in the Holy Family, and we should all be looking to follow His way in all things…including that!

If we do it will bring a happiness of which others do not even dream in this life, and be the key to divine, unending happiness in the next.

I misread something earlier I think. But there ARE people out there that use the whole EVE thing to say women are immoral and sinful by nature and should not be allowed to speak in the church, etc. That we are demonish seductresses and therefore not equal to men.
Well…Ah, nevermind.

I know women are sinful by nature but that is b/c we are human and men are just the same. That’s the point I was trying to make. I realized it might sound like I was saying that women weren’t sinful by nature. We just aren’t morally inferior to men…Which is what is being yelled at me all the time by these “preachers” when you walk by.

Because…a lot of guys I knew, especially in college, if you didn’t give them what they wanted (sex), they could always get it from some whorish girl, and therefore, they didn’t have to treat you with respect if they didn’t want to. I met so many jerks in my time…and it’s all b/c they don’t have to treat a lady with respect anymore b/c girls don’t call for it. I knew so many girls that would get wasted and just sleep with the first guy they fell over, and usually didn’t remember much about it.

I can see the connection with extreme feminism in this.

Wasn’t until I got to Grad school that I met a guy (my fiance) that wasn’t ruined by all of it. Treats me with dignity, respect, and love, and I treat him with the same.
That’s wonderful and I hope it always remains that way.

It seems you do get my point, from the comments above…women became so infatuated with “control” that they started behaving just like men…sleeping around and heck…why not…feels good…and they had contraception of all kinds to “protect” them and if anything happened…well there is always abortion.

They wanted “sexual freedom and liberation”…they got it and instead of earning the respect of men, they started just being used by men…and why the heck not? Afterall…for the men, it meant getting the “goods” for free…no commitment…no responsibility, not expectations…sure…who wouldn’t want that?

Again, THIS is the problem with the feminist movement today’s and yesterday’s…because it has encouraged selfishness.

👍 You got it! However, extreme feminism has be reduced, but it has left this aftermath. This is what I mean that it has been mainstreamed. THIS, because of feminism, is one example of the unintended consequences of it. Now, my girfriend disagrees, but I think that most women today, are benefitting from radical feminism.(different topic) IE, they got what what they wanted. And to hell with the cost.

Umm, yeah, and vice versa!

I can take it even further…Christ gave us another example of our “roles” within the family when he gave us the Catholic Church…His spouse. Or also…the Body of Christ…with Him as the head. The Church must fully obey her spouse and go where the “head” of the Body directs it…which we know, He always directs the Church to our Heavenly Father, God.

As such, the husband, is the “head” of the family here on earth…and should always be directing us toward our Heavenly Father and the wife, as the spouse, follows willingly…while directing the children to do the same.

This is WHY men and women can’t be viewed as the “same” again, because our roles were designed to be different and Christ Himself, gave us the examples we are too follow…because He knew, on our own, we would get completely lost and screw it all up…and the feminist movement is an example of what happens when we cast out God’s plan…and create our own.

I don’t disagree at all…unfortunately though…some of us, like man men who feel as you do…have had no choice but to “conform” to the world’s expectations…I was placed in a position to “care” for myself and my family due to circumstances…not out of choice!

Up to me…I would have married at 19 and now have 12 or more children to love and adore each day!

Even before feminism was around…men still slept around. Women would be wonderful stay at home moms, deferring everything to the husband, being the proper lady…and their husbands would STILL sleep around with prostitutes or whatever. The only reason why it’s worse today is b/c now there are more women willing to sleep around, when before women would be the abstaining force. Not all men would cheat, but back in the day it was accepted that the man could fool around and the woman couldn’t b/c of pregnancy, etc.

And if the women complained about the cheating then they would be blamed for not being devoted wives. usually in the upper classes though…

Like the Lords and Dukes and stuff from England haha

I thought that you’d say it hurt women as opposed to benefitting them. Which, of course, now I know you will lol
not out of choice!
And don’t be gettin pissy! lol

And what do you think has caused the “pool of men” to become less then they were say…30 years ago?
The fact that there is so many “easy” *if you know what I mean women out there. And the fact that this is not only tolerated but even encouraged.

Umm…I don’t know about that…I don’t know that it was common or accepted for men to cheat when women stayed home…in fact, I know from my parents and my grandparents that it was not a common thing at all.

The whole point is that today…we are seeing a rise in the opposite…women are the ones committing adultry, NOT ALL, but we see it on the rise. So instead of doing something to “fix” what was, as you claim, the issue “back then”…women decided to instead…do the same thing???

Fix one wrong by committing another?

That’s true…but WHEN did it become something tolerated and encouraged, rather than something that was stigmatized and unacceptable?

Until the mailman came around lol

In other words to the feminists, two wrongs do make a right. Yeah, it is worse now, and society and children suffer for it. Next to slavery, the 60’s were the biggest scar on America. It should have been beaten down then.

Well more than just hurting women…it hurt society…and it diminished the family…as you know.

And no, I am not overly pleased to have to get up everyday and go to work for someone else…nor am I pleased that I have had to rack up school loans so I could obtain my bachelor’s and master’s degrees to ensure “my place” in the workforce…

I would much rather wake up to the sound of my little ones and spend the days loving and caring for them…devoting my days, my life to each…teaching them, along with my (soon to be, I pray)husband, to be loving and faithful followers of Christ…but alas…I neither have any children…and here I sit and “wait” for the day I will be blessed with them.

I guess in the 60’s huh? or maybe it was the 70’s I am too tired to think right now lol. :p.

Now honey, we are in public here. They do not need to know our personal life. And I am sure that they do not want to know it. (But a cool little story it was) 😉
