Oh and by the way…this little line in your signature:

"I have concluded that there are no more original ideas. On the off chance I am wrong, I have decided to continue thinking."

Speaks volumes about your “self” superiority over others…since you apparently believe you are the ONLY one with an original thought!
Gosh you really don’t understand the statement? Amazing. I’ll ratchet back my words dear. to something simpler. I thought it was evident what was being said. You are sorely misunderstanding it.

SpiritMeadow;3636683

You are making false accusations about my girlfriend, and pissing me off! Go to our blog and you can see her picture!

Well, you should.

I call it as I see it. There was no name calling, you are, in fact, a wackjob.

You can ask anything you want.

I did not design this site to allow only 15 characters. See as you are too stupid to figure it out, it is: Leftist Destroyer. Which is what I intend to do, by smashing the likes of you, with facts, reason, and truth, while you divert, insult, make false accusations.
Perhaps you are new to this site. They do not allow this type of vile nasty namecalling. Are you attempting to push me into reporting your behavior or what?

I’ll respond to the above later…but as for what I consider women to be…If you also read further…you would have seen that I have expressed a great admiration and LOVE for the NEW EVE…the Blessed Mother and the ROLE she gave as an example to the world. But again, you choose instead to apply your selective reading skills…for the sake of what?? Doing what you can to “offend and insult” rather than actually discussing the matter in an intelligent manner.

You, my dear, are the one that has put blinders are so that you see the world only as you want…and then have the gall to expect everyone else to view it the same.
I think you and your boyfriend both need a time out. I have nothing further to say to either of you. You’ve gone beyond the pale to pure abusiveness.

They are not God’s teachings. They are man’s interpretation of what biblical writers said about some things. There is no clearcut statement in the bible about contraception. It never became an issue until modern times when science gave humans the choice to plan pregnancies according to their financial and other social circumstances. Let’s not bother with the usual inerrency debate okay?
Why are you not a Protestant? You sound exactly like one.

SpiritMeadow,
I make it a point not to engage you in debate because I believe your comments are mean-spirited, divisive, anti-Catholic, ignorant, and argumentative for it’s own sake.

But I do have one nagging question.

If you are, as you claim, in the majority of Catholic “opinion” when it comes to Church teaching on moral issues, then why on earth do you spend so much time on CAF? According to you, we are a “radical, extremist, fundamentalist, ultra-right wing” fringe group (all words you’ve used to describe the members here) that does not accurately represent Catholicism in this country. You, on the other hand, claim to be more representative with your dissenting “opinions” of nearly every moral teaching of the Church. Why bother with such knuckle-dragging throw backs to Midevil times?

I know you’ve been desperately trying to drag the thread into the mud where you appear to thrive but it doesn’t seem to be working. I applaud those members whose patient response only serve to illustrate how divisive and contentious your inflammatory statements are. And talk about judgementalism! You’ve gone so far as to “judge” the actual gender of another member as a false persona! Amazing!

I think it’s because she has been raised Catholic. There are a lot of people of all ages who claim a Catholic heritage but do not adhere to to faith because they have issues with what they believe “Truth” is and what Truth truly is. They’re what we call “cafeteria-Catholics”, and they’re all over the place. I’ve met several people of Sicilian ancestry who have families claim to be Catholic, but some of the things their families do aren’t really… you know… But that’s how they interpret the faith.

It’s obvious that you are passionate about this subject and your tenacity is admirable but you have to tone down the insults. It’s completely counter-productive and only fuels the arguments made by those with whom you disagree.

There is no need for name-calling. It completely distracts from the point you are trying to make. If you can’t dialogue without resorting to insults, you should back out of the discussion.

In that case, the responsible thing for her to do would be either to conform her beliefs to the Church’s Magisterium or to leave the Church. I see no point in her sticking around in her current situation: try as she might the Church will never come around to her views, and all she is doing here is spewing dissent which, according to the Church, is dangerous to herself and others.

Being a member of the Catholic Church in her current state is simply irrational. She thinks the Church is wrong… well, to her I say go and find a church that you think is right.

SpiritMeadow;3639449]
Since you proport to speak for me, will you be taking care of my monthly bills as well?
If we were married, I’d be more than happy to. My point all along.

Protestantism and cafeteria-Catholicism aren’t rational things. They never have been, and never will be. And you can’t convince dissenters to think rationally, either, because their beliefs are based on feelings and not RATIONALITY. It’s the same with Atheists. It’s not that they don’t believe in God, but are so angry at Him that they deny His existence. And they claim Christianity is irrational. The guy who came up with the idea of rationality (Bacon) was a monk. What does that say about it?

Anecdotal remarks are not evidence of anything. I appreciate that you love women who act as you desire them too. Wouldn’t we all like that. I
At least I have soemthing to back up my claim.
I am sure that separate but equal was okay with you, or would be should you have the opportunity to revisit that issue as well.
Come to Chicago. We are pretty much seperate but equal right now, no thanks to the Libs.
You make a lot of statements about women that are singularly offensive and without basis in factual proof.
When I provide proof to you, you call it “anecdotal remarks”.
Isn’t it grand when you can hide your bigotry behind an personal interpretation of one’s faith?
LOL as opposed to YOUR feminist interpretation of it? If you had it your way, I think you would have prefered to see the Holy Mother nailed to a cross.

SpiritMeadow;3639471]
You are quite right. What I believe is the norm in the American church. It may be even more so in the European Church.
Well there you go. If the American Church and the European Church are different, as you have said above, then doesn’t that prove that the truth is lost, misinterpreted, or wrong? Shouldn’t it be 100% the same? Of course it should. We all know how secularized Europe is becomming, and isn’t that telling? Yes, it is.
I have not used the words “degenerate the sanctity of the family” and I have no idea what they even mean.
Can you even read?

“When someone calls themselves “female” and then continues over several posts to denigrate women in the most awful ways”

Neat62 said: “To use your words, denegrate the sanctity of the family”.
I have never remarked about the “secular” world either.
"It is obvious that your ideology supports the secular world. All one has to do is to visit your blog, and it becomes crystal clear:
It appears that the marriage issue will be back on the ballot this year in California. I have not kept track of this, so I don’t know what is likely to happen. The National Reviewof course, thinks it’s just super. The Catholic wingnuts (insert right wing nutso minority) also thinks its super."

Sorry, what was it you said about name calling again???
The only slander I have perhaps committed is in calling you a man, though I don’t know why you would feel slandered if indeed you are a woman. Clearly from your statements you reject most women as flawed and evil.
LOL

8And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother’s wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.

9And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.

10And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.

SpiritMeadow;3639504]
I am not living my live according to secular designs. I am well past child bearing age. 85% of all Catholics practice contraception. I also don’t like the church’s stance on gays either. I am not gay, so again I am not espousing a belief that allows me to live my life in some secular way.
LOL And those are all secular teachings! And yes, those 85% of Catholics are just as guilty! We are not defending Catholics(as many of them today are pick and choosers), we are defending the teachings and the Church.
I always favor rationalism rather than bigotry myself.
Which is basically Liberalism.
I have not called anyone a wackjob here, but your co-editor certainly has.
No, you called me a woman hater, a mysogonist, which are both offensive, a bigot, a “poser”, self hating, child molesters(You would fit in quite well in that compound in Texas with those other brainwashed folks.)
And of course, brainwashed.

And you have the nerve to expect graciousness?!?!?!?
Could you two be husband and wife

I think you and your boyfriend both need a time out. I have nothing further to say to either of you. You’ve gone beyond the pale to pure abusiveness.
That’s funny coming from you, who began the abuse far worse that we have.

Don’t let the door hit ya! (Though I wouldn’t care if it did)

Neat, you’re entitled to your opinion. The only reason I’m saying you’re arrogant and short sighted is because you’re saying Susan B. Anthony was wrong in wanting to vote, and that we should all want what you do. Feminism is about choice; if you don’t want to work, then don’t. However, the feminist movement has given you the choice as to whether or not you can advance and do as well as men in the work force.

Am I telling you you’re wrong? No,I just think you are. Believe what you want. However, this is the Catholic Answers Forum, where absolute truth rests in those who post here. I guess you’re entitled to your opinion, because your opinion is the truth–however, I’m pretty sure the Church tries to play the card that the Bible sees women as equal.
I disagree, there may be some liberal priest who may say so, or bishop. But the church as a whole(masgestarium) says women and men are very different and St. Paul shows the roles both sexes have. If the church viewed women as the same as men then women could be priests too.

The other question goes as to whether women are made in the image of God. St. Paul seems to affirm that only men are, and that women are from the glory of man(hence women aren’t the original image of God). St Augustine says that women aren’t made in the original image of God originally. But that they are in it because they came from man. So women are in the image of God only because of the nature and glory of Man

Whatever Her behavior has not been polite either and has been insulting. She used name calling as well. Call a spade a spade! What is this nonsense?!?!?

I am done with this chick. It is impossible to keep going when she insults me all the time. Not once, but ALL the time. This is how Libs, and she proudly is, operate. When losing, attack. There is no need for me to continue, it is obvious that I have already won. With her, Spirit Meadow, it was like boxing a child. All too easy.

Looks like the thread is staying heated without me. Don’t want to get too involved so I can maintain my sanity but I thought I’d contribute an article I found interesting about Stay at home mom’s and their changing role in the executive world

online.wsj.com/article/SB120951025037054311.html?mod=yhoofront

Oh and that whole thing about women not made in the image of God but only get their glory through men…well I think that is a load of BS…but that is my personal opinion.
