Oh and that whole thing about women not made in the image of God but only get their glory through men…well I think that is a load of BS…but that is my personal opinion.
And who the heck said that?!?!

I
The other question goes as to whether women are made in the image of God. St. Paul seems to affirm that only men are, and that women are from the glory of man(hence women aren’t the original image of God). St Augustine says that women aren’t made in the original image of God originally. But that they are in it because they came from man. So women are in the image of God only because of the nature and glory of Man
PetersKeys said that St. Paul and St. Augustine said it. In my bible class we went over the original language of Genesis. And unless my professor with a Ph.D in theology was a complete idiot, then there is no support to the “women not made in the original image of God” argument.

I think the “fathers” were playing around with the idea b/c they liked it. A lot of men back in the day liked the idea of being superior than women…

Well there you go. If the American Church and the European Church are different, as you have said above, then doesn’t that prove that the truth is lost, misinterpreted, or wrong? Shouldn’t it be 100% the same? Of course it should. We all know how secularized Europe is becomming, and isn’t that telling? Yes, it is.

Can you even read?

“When someone calls themselves “female” and then continues over several posts to denigrate women in the most awful ways”

Neat62 said: “To use your words, denegrate the sanctity of the family”.

"It is obvious that your ideology supports the secular world. All one has to do is to visit your blog, and it becomes crystal clear:
It appears that the marriage issue will be back on the ballot this year in California. I have not kept track of this, so I don’t know what is likely to happen. The National Reviewof course, thinks it’s just super. The Catholic wingnuts (insert right wing nutso minority) also thinks its super."

Sorry, what was it you said about name calling again???

LOL
One last remark: What I say on my blog is not yours to reprint and then claim that I am name calling here. I referred to no particular person. You two are obviously meant for each other. your bigotry is so obvious but of course with that log in your eye you are most unable to see it.

Your girl said degenerate the family. I did not do so by your own reprinting of my actual words. Get a grip. Your nastiness will have you banned here before long.

Ok I see. Well, I think that the words are being misread.

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it;”

I think the “Glory” of man, is meant in terms of the Glory of what God had created.

“So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh; 22 and the rib which the LORD God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. 23 Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” 24 Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh. 25”

Not that men are “better”. Kind of like, how a baby is glorius as he/she was created from the glory of mother and father and their union.

I claimed that you were name calling on this thread. Which you did do. And I suggest that you remove your blog from your profile if you do not want people to read it.
I referred to no particular person.
The post on your blog CLEARLY refered to those true Catholics who do not subscribe to your liberal ideology.

.

You clearly do not understand that passage. It means: Do not chactise someone for doing something, IF YOU YOURSELF DOES IT. It DOES NOT mean that we cannot judge someone for sining. We are obliged as Catholics, to tell them that they are about to sin. We cannot condmen, only God can.
Your girl said degenerate the family.
LOL She never said that you sad that. She said that you used the word “denegrate”. That is why she put it in quotes.
I did not do so by your own reprinting of my actual words.
LOL Whatever! LOL

If I were in charge here, you would be banned for your flagrant dissent (speaking as a Catholic). If I were your bishop, I’d probably excommunicate you.

As it is, I sincerely hope that you are not receiving the Eucharist, for the sake of your soul.

The next thing she’s going to call you is a dissenter from the female cause, or a misogynist or whatever. This is how these things work.

JOHN PAUL II
ON THE
DIGNITY AND VOCATION
OF WOMEN
ON THE OCCASION
OF THE MARIAN YEAR
…This can be seen, for example, in the statements of the Church’s Magisterium present in various documents of the Second Vatican Council, which declares in its Closing Message: “The hour is coming, in fact has come, when the vocation of women is being acknowledged in its fullness, the hour in which women acquire in the world an influence, an effect and a power never hitherto achieved. That is why, at his moment when the human race is undergoing so deep a transformation, women imbued with a spirit of the Gospel can do so much to aid humanity in not falling”…
22"God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them" (Gen 1:27). This concise passage contains the fundamental anthropological truths: man is the highpoint of the whole order of creation in the visible world; the human race, which takes its origin from the calling into existence of man and woman, crowns the whole work of creation; both man and woman are human beings to an equal degree, both are created in God’s image. …The Creator entrusts dominion over the earth to the human race, to all persons, to all men and women, who derive their dignity and vocation from the common “beginning”…10. The biblical description in the Book of Genesis outlines the truth about the consequences of man’s sin, as it is shown by the disturbance of that original relationship between man and woman which corresponds to their individual dignity as persons. …Therefore when we read in the biblical description the words addressed to the woman: “Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you” (Gen 3:16), we discover a break and a constant threat precisely in regard to this “unity of the two” which corresponds to the dignity of the image and likeness of God in both of them. …“he shall rule over you”. This “domination” indicates the disturbance and loss of the stability of that fundamental equality which the man and the woman possess in the “unity of the two”: and this is especially to the disadvantage of the woman, whereas only the equality resulting from their dignity as persons can give to their mutual relationship the character of an authentic “communio personarum”. …While the violation of this equality, which is both a gift and a right deriving from God the Creator, involves an element to the disadvantage of the woman, at the same time it also diminishes the true dignity of the man. …
The overcoming of this evil inheritance is, generation after generation, the task of every human being, whether woman or man. For whenever man is responsible for offending a woman’s personal dignity and vocation, he acts contrary to his own personal dignity and his own vocation.
That’s what feminism wants. Dignity, equality, respect and room to exercise dominion. It’s all there.

Ahh, but you are not in charge, and it seems with good reason.

Well said indeed. But some here do not agree obviously. It’s just another example of cafeteria catholicism. Much to be decried.

NO I’m quite sure it will not be the last. I have no interest in any further discussion with you. Can you get that? I thought I had made that clear but you continue to rant.

Due to the appalling lack of Christian charity being exhibited on this thread, it is now closed.
