Libby’s castmate Gina Woods (the one who danced pregnant) says it saddens her to see “girls acting out in ridiculous, embarrassing and harmful ways, like in the ‘Girls Gone Wild’ videos. It’s most likely a bad mix of alcohol, hormones and a need for attention – but whatever the reason, the joke is on the girls, not the guys. It’s not that dancing and nudity are immoral; it’s their obvious desperation.”

Women have never been more degraded in the history of humanity than they are being right now in this country, and I see no end in sight. In the pursuit of guilt free sex they have become nothing but the objects of it. The pornography industry and makers of the Howard Stern and Mancow Shows should be on their knees thanking women like Erica Jong and Nancy Friday for making them so rich off the liberal’s “empowerment” of women.

Abortions, STD’s and unwanted pregnancies are continuing to skyrocket. Wasn’t contraception supposed to be the magic bullet cure all this? :hmmm:

Because the culture lied to women…and it rewarded, monetarily, men who did not put Christ in the center of their lives and devoted themselves to their families. Instead, those men who dumped their wives in pursuit of the younger, trophy wife left were lionized as ‘studs’. Women were told that the answer to this was not to unite their suffering with Christ’s. Instead, those women left behind were told that somehow it was their fault for not being gorgeous supermodels after looking after 5 or 6 kids all day and trying to keep a nice home. So someone tells them that ‘sex without responsibility’ is the answer to their troubles - they get to be like the men who treated them badly, see? No more responsibilities - just sex!

OH but we forgot something! We forgot that we women are different psychologically from men! We forgot that having the freedom to act like those few men who gave the entire group a bad name and reputation, who were held up by the media of the day (1940s and 1950s) as big ol’ studs to be admired would cause us other types of pain…the pain of trying to be something we are NOT…

Instead of going after the true economic hardships and realities that women faced and still face throughout the world the frontline feminists convinced women in the Western World that if they could just act like those studly men, all would be well.

Instead they should have just labled the studly men the name they really were - harlots.

I agree with your comments, except for the word “harlot” for men. What they were and are is debauchers. A harlot sells her body for money, but a man who buys such services or worse, who ruins good women, is called a debaucher.

The funny thing is those “girls” in said videos are more likely than not paid “actresses”, and the spontaneity of the situations is completely staged. IOW, they’re in the same line of work as these ladies.

How do like the world you’ve created now?
 
The feminists really reaped what they sowed here. Every thing the original feminists have fought for has almost backfired.

In my line of work some of my clients are marketing people. Young late 20’s well educated women and men. When the conversation is not on business, the things that comeout of the “women” are pretty well equivelent to our old “mens locker room talk”. Women have sure learned to talk dirty, cuss and swear just as good as men can.
 
I, being 21, now married but had experience with and on the college scene have to defend some of the guys here. I guess some of the girls, too. Guys look at porn b/c they think it is “normal,” something they are expected to do as “red-blooded males.” Girls dress and act like what they see on videos and TV b/c they think that that is what they are supposed to do.

You could call these people “immoral” and “debauchers,” but only if they have been instructed/presented with an alternative to what our culture teaches. If they haven’t been taught morals or given the good news of Christ, they are not these things…they are just going with the flow of our corrupt society (led by advertisers and politicians who ARE older and were taught morals, so THEY should be held responsible) I’m not saying that young people don’t have free choice, but let’s just remember that you can’t commit a grave sin if you don’t have full knowledge of your transgression…KWIM?

And why can they not see how those two things are interrelated.

When sex has no repercussions, not a loving act between two couples who would willing raise children with each other, then sex is just an act, it’s lived out pornography.

The partner in sex is not one whom you have commited your life to, only offered your body to in a temporary way. One isn’t a person, but a body, an object.

And they wonder why sex objectifies women.

I hear what you’re saying. The adults of our culture have really let the ball drop on this. There are helps for young people, but we have to let them know they’re out there, such as They Lied to Us and other good tapes and books on this topic.

I get the feeling here that only women are being blamed. After all, men are the main buyers of porn, frequenters of strip clubs, etc. I don’t think you can say that feminism is the sole reason that the sex industry has become so mainstream - this has been done by society at large.
 
This all just proves that we continue to be Eve. Satan has lied to us again and we bought it…again.

If you eat of this fruit you will be like God. And what do we end up with? Embarrassment, banishment, shame…sin.

What the feminists wanted is not what they got. This will always happen when we seek to fulfill human desires and goals above God’s will. When we think we know better then God…that is a great sin.

And yes, society as a whole is responsible…just as Adam was responsible with Eve for the fall of man.
 
Excellent thread. 60’s feminism has the same fatal flaw as other leftist ideologies. They have a certain amount of truth in their diagnosis of a REAL societal injustice (sexism, poverty, racism, lack of health care). They then propose awful ‘solutions’ that instead of truly fighting the root problem, make it WORSE (feminism, ghetto projects/welfare, non-merit based race quotas, socialized health care).

This certainly happens from time to time by right wing ideologues too (tax cuts=solution to everything). Maybe we ought to be a bit more careful before jumping on ANY bandwagon.
 
I have to ask, how bad was life in the 1940’s? I wasn’t alive, byt my grandparents were and they have complained about those times, they just shake their heads about the world today.

I am so tired of women complaining about the world and how men don’t treat them with respect and how men are so disgusting and men used to be so controlling…look at the world now! Women are being controlling and men don’t treat them with respect because they are either afraid to do it or the women aren’t acting worthy of respect, I mean, how can you respect a woman who shows her body to every man she meets? And if men are truly so disgusting, why try to be like them?? Why not act like a lady and show the men that the way they act isn’t going to get them any kind of attention??? These times are so frustrating, aren’t they??
