Hello everyone!
There is this three day festival I want to attend next year. I am really excited about it as there are many bands I want to see (seeing them all together would be great). The thing is I realize that the festival runs through Sunday and that brings me to my issue. I don’t want to miss going to mass. I also don’t want to pass up this festival. I have already looked into churches by the venue that I could go to, but apparently there is no re-entry once you leave.
I feel silly having this issue, but I would like to know what you guys would do/recommend!

Thanks for your (name removed by moderator)ut in advance!

God bless!

Is there a Sunday evening Mass after the festival is over, either near the site of the festival or near your home? If there is a university in either area you might check on their Mass times – often Newman Centers have a late Sunday Mass.

Thank you for you quick reply!
I was hoping that I could attend a Sunday evening Mass, but this festival runs all of Sunday and you leave on Monday. I have never been to a festival where you camp (I’d be going with a group of friends) and also this is in the UK, so I would be traveling.

Maybe someone else will have ideas. The only other thing I can suggest is to talk with your pastor and get a dispensation to miss Mass that weekend.

I haven’t thought of a dispensation, although I don’t really know the terms for getting one. I will talk to my pastor though.

Thank you 🙂

It’s a three-day festival, so I’m guessing Friday through Sunday. Like the OP said, there’s no re-entry. So if he leaves to go to Saturday evening Mass, he won’t be able to get back in and thus would miss all of Sunday’s events.
