So people should be able to not contribute to the system and then when they get sick they should expect the system that they did not contribute to has to bail them out?
The contribute what they can, everyone pays taxes, everyone could pay something, or at least pay something when they can.

If you’re too sick to work, what exactly are you supposed to do? If you can’t get care to get better, you’ll never make money, thus never be able to pay anything back.

That is why you arrange for insurance and pay for it before you get sick. it is sort of like wrecking your car and then trying to find insurance to cover the repairs.

My insurance woes started when I was 18. Exactly when was I supposed to get it?

Weren’t you covered under your parrents policy? Also, when you get a job they ussually absorb pre existing conditions.

My family had a horrible time keeping me covered, I was dropped several times via recission about my genetic condtions, so portability law didn’t apply once I turned 18. No one would sell me a policy less than $600 a month (try doing that while also paying for college). Again we were middle class so I could get no govrernment assistance for school to help pay for any plan.

As for now, I am so chronically sick I do work as a contractor because I become unable to work so often they cannot take me as a full time employee. Thus I do not get benefits like insurance

Although 600 a month is very cheap, It deffinately sounds like you would be much better off moving to a country with socialized medicine.

That was a catastrophic plan, my college roommates were able to get the same plans for about $75 a month. Also keep in mind it did not include prescription drugs, or doctoro visits. Until 10,000 had been met

Yes you have a choice of being homeless but having your health or putting a roof over your head and putting your health out to pasture. What a deal!

Or sane public market, I’m looking at the Netherlands, there they have a public market, but the companies are not allowed to take pre existing conditions into account, only your age. The rest of your information is private.

I have friends, I could get a job, all I’d need to do is learn Dutch.

The other big problem, seems every country on the planet, including our own, want you to be ‘debt free’ when you emigrate. So I am be stuck here. I’m almost wondering if I could bypass that by declaring myself a refuge, a bit extreme, but it might work.

Great for you, God created a wonderful world with great diversity offering the right options for each of us.

You missed my edit, the main problem is, all countries (including our own) require you to be debt-less to move into their borders permanently. I cannot ever be debt free, I am essentially stuck, unless I find a way to bypass that requirement.

Seems like dealing with issues such as yours would have been a much better use of the “stimulus” money. Maybe if you were a few billion in debt and added the words “savings and loan” to you name Obama would be willing to help you out.

Work with me a second here: Have you ever researched if dogs and cats get the condition you have? I would be curious to see what the costs were to treat them. It has been a pet peave of mine that the exact same procedure or medicine for a four legged patient is a tenth to a hundreth of the cost for a human patient. I am not suggesting you go to a vet. I am saying it may help you to articulate what the actual cost should be for your treatments. Sorta like going to the car dealer with knowledge of the invoice price and using it to negotiate a better price.

They euthanize them. That’s pretty cheap. Also, one of my issues involves chronic pain unending, nonspecific pain, it’s hard to ask a pet if they have that.

Here’s the laundry list of what I have.

Intersexism, unspecificied cause, but I have XX/XXY/XY chromosomes, perhaps more iterations, unknown how much damage this causes, I get chronic infections ‘down there’ where they did surgery to normalize me as an infant. Pituitary tumors, kidney stones and the biggie is fibromyalgia as they can’t even agree if that EXISTS, however I can tell you I hurt, it’s hard to imagine not hurting anymore, I always hurt.

worth a shot, I had a relative and dog both going through cancer about the same time and I was dismayed at the difference in the costs for essentailly the same treatment.

Have you turned your suffering over to God?

Considering churches and priests give me panic attacks, I haven’t been to church in years, it’s too painful an experience. I’m not really willing to discuss that in public.

And as I said, they euthanize them or they wouldn’t have operated on them in the first place, negating all the chronic infections I would never have gotten in the first place so there’s no way to compare, pet animals don’t have these issues as they were CREATED by the medical establishment’s mangling of my body at birth.

You said you were thinking of the Netherlands? What was it that caused you lean that direction instead of say France or Switzerland? I’m just curious.

I have very good friends there that would help me get my life restarted.

that sounds like grounds for a malpractice suit.
