Fighting sexual temptations, help!

Just to update, all is going well on the front line, have not even felt tempted to commit sin since i posted last, i know there are other people doing this now so its easier, just wish me luck! i’m afraid that i’ll start to feel tempted, i need your support!

www.Sentryparentalcontrols.com has a great program… well maybe just a little too good. No porn has gotten through at our house since I installed it. As well as some ligitimate sights for kid’s homework… well, the old firewall was full of holes.

Good luck… did you say you read TOB? That ended nasty desires for me, right there.

Thanks all. This is a great post. The day I think I have mastered over this temptation by my own merits I fall the very second. I am realizing that I cant win this battle alone & I need the grace of our Lord and support of a community.

you state the problem
you state the solution
get away from the computer until you have mastered your urge to visit those sites. If that means getting rid of your computer for a time, you will have to do it, or you will have to get someone to install blocking software that you cannot override.

That is the tried and true advice in 2000 years Christian tradition, and it is the advice of Christ himself, you remove whatever is an occasion of sin for you.

Read the Theology of the Body and learn why your body is made the way it is, why it houses your soul and why sex is the work of God and his gift to use that allows us to cooperate with him in his creative work. Misusing sex for selfish ends is the work of the devil as it demeans you and makes you less than human.
