I am attending church tomorrow in the evening. It’s a good time because I like to sleep in.
I also get to meet the priest who said I can make a time to meet then. He said I can call as well, but I would like to attend church.
I am nervous since I don’t have great clothes. I am mostly jeans and sneakers. I do have a pair of flats, but in winter I will get so cold.
I also found out three weeks ago that I have GERD, (gastro esophageal reflux disease), so I have Prilosec. I don’t take it everyday, I figured out once a week I can have something I love if I take my Prilosec half an hour before that meal.
The acid harmed my esophagus in some way. I was coughing from terrible tickles in my throat that soon started becoming pain. I could not sleep for days.
Today I went to the doctor. I coughed one second before the doctor walked in saying, “I heard that cough.” I had a chest x-ray and my lungs are healthy. I am on a medication for seven days because I have a bug. It acts like a bacteria and virus so I couldn’t take the regular 5-day antibiotic.
I am happy that my health is coming back. I like this doctor. He is very good at his work and so nice. He talks to his patients and even asked me about school.
I should not be coughing in seven days I hope.
I am excited about attending church. I haven’t been since April 01, 2011. I hope People don’t look at me in my regular clothes!
I buy my daughter the clothes she needs to be stylish for school, I buy myself what I need. I am not messy looking. I only don’t look fashionable.

One does not have to be fashionable in church…just neat! 🙂
Yes! Please feel welcome. Your illness will not be off-putting to anyone. I’m glad you have a good doctor that you trust and that you are on the mend. 🙂

I’m glad you are feeling better! :flowers: Don’t worry about your clothes, evening services at a Catholic church are much more informal than during Sunday morning; it might be like that at your church. You are there to spend time with God, anyway. 😉

Praying for your continued health & recovery. As far as Church attire; just come presentable. God is not fashion conscious.

Welcome back to the church. My mother always said as long as your clothes are clean and modest there is no reason to feel embarrassed about what you wear.

God doesn’t care what you wear. I hope your medications are working and that you’ll be better soon.

If this is your first time at Mass don’t be surprised if you feel a bit out of place as you may not know when to stand, sit, or kneel or know what the responses are. It takes a while to get used to the rhythms of Mass, but you’ll get there! We have cards in the pews to help. Hopefully your church will also have them.
