After completing RCIA, I was finally baptised into the Maronite Catholic Church today in an intimate baptismal ceremony witnessed by my husband, our 2 young children & a few family members & close friends (sadly without my LDS family). My journey out of the LDS faith & into the Catholic Church has been a long & bumpy road but it has been very rewarding & definitely worth it all. I look forward to the rest of my life & spiritual journey as part of the Catholic family.
Praise be to God! 🙂

Congratulations! That is wonderful news! Praise be to God indeed!

I will pray for your family tonight, that they may too may find God in his holy Church.

Welcome Home. Congratulations!
Have prayed for you and your family.

Having witnessed your goodness and sincere love for God and neighbor on another thread, I am so grateful to know about your Baptism. Please include me in your prayers.

Blessings,

Congratulations! I am very happy for you! It is definitely a long and bumpy road. Sorry to hear your LDS family didn’t attend. I hope you life will be a witness to them. Praise be to God that you found your way home!

congratulations for staying the bumpy journey. All the more rewarding that you stuck it out.

What the difference between Maronite Catholic and Roman Catholic. I have a very basic understanding of Roman Catholic and didn’t know all these other Catholics existed before coming here tho was aware of the term anglo-catholic which some anglicans like to call themselves but my time here has taught me i am very much Church of England-anglican.

but what is a Maronite Catholic

Praise God and welcome to our family of faith! I’m so happy for you. I got Baptised as an adult as well. It really was the best night of my life (excluding the birth of my daughters if they’re within earshot) and one I cherish. May God bless you and your family and may your love for Mary grow and grow and grow.

Welcome!

👍:clapping::yup::)😃

…and a prayer…

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blest is the fruit of thy womb, Jesús. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

God Bless You, and Welcome to the fold. I am a Latin Catholic, but all the Eastern Catholic Church’s are very close and dear to my heart, and it warms my heart to see people convert to the Maronite Catholic Church. I wish you all the best on your journey in the faith.

Taken from the library section of this website.
The Catholic religion is the religion of the Catholic Church—i.e., that group of churches in communion with the pope. If a group isn’t in communion with the pope, it isn’t part of the Catholic Church.

Within the Catholic Church there are a number of individual churches, sometimes called rites. One of these is the Roman rite or Roman church. It includes most of the Catholics in the Western world. A Roman Catholic is a Catholic who is a member of the Roman rite.

There are many Catholics in the East who are not Roman Catholics, such as Maronite Catholics, Ukrainian Catholics, and Chaldean Catholics. These are all in communion with the pope, but they are not members of the Roman rite, so they are not Roman Catholics.

The Roman rite is not stricter than these other rights. They are equal. They all teach the same faith; it is only local customs that are different among them.
