Is there a mystic meaning of this statue? Besides being iconic…

It’s supposed to be St. Joseph trusting in God and sleeping and getting messages from God in his dreams, as told in Scripture.
These statues got popular again in the last few years because Pope Francis has one in his room.
You’re supposed to put a note under it if you’re having a problem.

Very lovely! This brings back Psalm 3:
3:6. I have slept and have taken my rest: and I have risen up, because the Lord hath protected me.
Yes, St Joseph was taught in a dream to trust the Most Holy Blessed.Mother of.God by Archangel Gabriel. Such meaning in such a small.statue
Truly an icon.
To the OP.may I ask from which site you purchased it?
How beautiful, thank you the OP, @Tis_Bearself, @steph03 for such a good beginning of the week.

When I first saw this in the Catholic bookstore, I thought it was Jesus asleep in the boat 🙂

Yeah, people who aren’t familiar with it think it’s a sleeping Jesus. Or sometimes an apostle who fell asleep on the mountain or at Gethsemane. I’ve explained it to several folks who thought that.

I didn’t even think about the Apostle explanation!

got it via Amazon… The better ones are made in Italy and are more expensive, the less expensive ones are from China. St.Joseph probably doesn’t care which, but does care about your prayers and requests…
