i’ve listened to dave ramsey. he has excellent financial advice.
BUT i think he might have an anti-catholic bias
I’ve listened to him a lot over the years, and I really don’t think he has an anti-Catholic bias. A lot of people, including many Catholics, would say that’s a valid thing to consider.

I have listened to Ramsey and I agree with him, being debt free is the only way to financial peace. Just my husbands denial and defensiveness about finances is fierce and anything I suggest he ignores.
In fact, if I suggest a reduction he actually goes & spends more. It sounds crazy… but I guess it’s just that he hates me that much. I’m losing hope but I can’t raise these children on my own

I don’t know if this will help but I really enjoyed watching this one man play about Pope John xxiii. From about 2:50 to 6:00 he talks about his family and their financial struggles and the love they shared. Go and watch it. It’s only a few minutes

Maybe reverse psychology is the way to go with this guy! : ) Tell him to go spend big for Christmas!! (just kidding - - I think!)

OP, if your husband wont go for counseling with you, go by yourself. You may get a better understanding of how to deal with him, or learn skills to communicate better with him, despite his own poor communication skills.
