Find God through the internet, prelate suggests

Rome, Jun. 06 (CWNews.com) - God can be found even on the internet, the president of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications remarked in a June 6 talk to a European internet conference.

Archbishop John Foley, speaking to Catholic web-site operators in Rome, said that among the millions of people who use the internet every day, some may find new spiritual resources, and support for their interior lives. The American prelate said that Catholics should take advantage of “new opportunities for new means of informing, educating, praying, and evangelizing.” He added that Catholics should also seek to make the internet a resource that can be used to promote the common good, protect peace, and encourage respect for human dignity and solidarity.

Hey, this is me…lol…I am one who was lead to Catholism thru the internet! I was in a Christian Chatroom, and just got sick of the same ole, same ole bickering and people condemning others to Hell. As I exited the chatroom, it took me back to the main chatroom listings, and I notice one that said Catholic Chat…hmm…I wondered…what’s it like in here…lol… I just lurked, and watch how they defended and explained their faith. I had such a peace, I knew there must be something to this…however, it was weeks before I would start to interact in the chat. I started watching EWTN(which I learned about in the chatroom), which exposed me to more indepth details on Catholism.

And one thing just lead to another, and I came into the church the following year.
