Finding a Seattle Parish

Bump.

I’m not registered in any parish right now, but I want to find an orthodox and preferably ‘traditional’ parish in which to plant my family. I’m in the south end of Seattle, but I wouldn’t mind driving 20 or 30 mins to mass.

Anyhoo, seems Seattle mass-goers have recommended St. Monica’s on Mercer Island and most especially Blessed Sacrament in the U District. Any other suggestions? I have been to Blessed Sacrament before, but until browsing this old thread, I didn’t realize that Latin and incense were used consistently at the noon mass. I realize that smells and bells are not prerequisites for a valid and reverent mass, this is just what I happen to prefer.

Suggestions?

I just came upon this old thread and I am in South Seattle also. I drive up to St. Mark’s in Shoreline quite often now on Sundays. Fr. Harris the pastor is the only priest and is soooo orthodox! I heard he was voted the most orthodox in the Seattle Archdioceses. St. Monica’s is under renovation and the mass was in the gym the last time I went there. St. Alphonsus is really traditional and the pastor is a S.O.L.T. like Fr. Karope. It is in Ballard. I like Blessed Sacrament in the U. district also. God Bless!

Hi there, So. Seattlites! I have a great Parish for you to try! I moved to the south end in January and it has taken me about 6 months to finally settle on a really wonderful Parish - St. Philomena in Des Moines. Our new Pastor is wonderful and so are the parishioners. You will also hear hymns sung there that you haven’t heard in years!

Another suggestion is Holy Family in White Center. Father Bloom is an amazing priest and his parish is chock full of faith filled members. This is the Parish that hosts Fr. Corapi’s visit every year. They also offer the Latin Mass once a week!
