Does anyone know where there are Catholic Communities (i.e. catholic lay, religious living in community together) in Oklahoma or near Oklahoma??
I’m new and don’t know how to use this site, but if someone knows how I can find out about catholic communities around the country can you email me at deconverse2000@yahoo.com – Thanks!

Oh…let me elaborate, I’d like to live in a co-op (or something similar). Idealy living in a neighborhood where families have thier own houses (or apartmnets) but live and do things as a catholic community.

Welcome to CAF, deconverse… http://bestsmileys.com/waving/5.gif

When you open the Spirituality forum, there is a long list of topics. ‘threads’]
Near the top of this page, towards the left, you will see the words ‘new threads’
[with a lined piece of paper, with a checkmark on it.]

If you click on that area, a window opens.

Choose a title, write the post, and then select the
submit new thread area.
Hope that this is clearly explained. 🙂

This way, many posters will see the title of your thread, and
perhaps some posters will be able to provide information.

The closest thing I’ve heard, to something like this… is a Catholic Retirement Community, in our area. I tried, at one point… to get my mother into one. But the cost was astronomical. It was the same as buying a single family home. So, wasn’t possible for her.

If there are other types of Catholic Communities… such as Third Order communities… I’d like to learn more about these, too. God bless. 🙂

Great new (10 years) Benedictine Monastery in the Tulsa Diocese
Clear Creek .org? Traditional and using the Gregorian chant.

Clear Creek Monastery near Tahlequah is hoping for that sort of thing to occur around it.
The area is rural. The roads are fairly good to get there. There are lots of farms in the area.
We visited last summer. I would like to go up again. Tahlequah is the nearest medium size town. There’s a state university and many historical venues especially dealing with the Cherokee tribe.
There is a homeschooling group out of Tulsa that I understand is pretty active. homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/regional/Oklahoma.htm
The Oklahoma Food Co-Op delivers in Tahlequah. oklahomafood.coop/
I know there are places to buy both goat and cow raw milk. realmilk.com/where4.html#ok
Interested?
Hot summers, moderate winters (ice and snow on occasion). Tornados in spring SOMETIMES. Not always.
Long growing season. Lots of lovely friendly people.
The reason I am not moving up there from my home in central Oklahoma? Grandchildren live close to me here and I would not give that up for anything short of my eternal life.👍
